I've been extremely loyal to the Saucony brand for running shoes for about the past 10 years. Last year I tried La Sportiva Rajas because I was looking for something to wear for both trail running and for hiking 14ers in the Rockies. Now I'm a convert. Like the Rajas, these are durable, comfortable (after they're broken in, at least), and stable. They're a little bit lighter than the Rajas and don't have quite as much sticky traction, but they still perform great on dirt and rocky trails. I haven't tried them on pavement or on a really long run, but I think they're ideal for shorter, everyday trail use.
