I'll be very upfront and admit I'm a diehard Mountain Hardwear head and love just about everything they make. I beat on their gear and it delivers time and again. After setting this tent up for the first time, I was disappointed and thought it looked kind of odd, clunky, and flimsy. I just couldn't get physced about its weird shape. As always, I trusted MH and just got back from an extended trip in the Adirondacks breaking in our new tent. It performed really well and I now dig it totally. I roll with one woman and two dogs and a better fit you will not find for a posse of 4. The odd shapes I noted are these great vestibules that our dogs immediately claimed for sleeping in and they are out of the way. Lots of additional floor space for people and packs, two entry doors, and great pocket storage all around, including ceiling hangers for headlamps and your bubbler. We had some rough weather and wet nights and the new rig stayed bone dry and breathed. It is much stronger than it looks and the dogs were in and out and constantly banging around in it, not a scratch. The rain cover works great and we left it open over the doors most of the time, plenty of light. It battens down tight when you need it creating additional exterior vestibule space for boots and other shit. No condensation at all and no overheating. Easy set up and efficient and intelligent design features as expected. There are a couple of inches of lift in the floor at the entry doors for instance, that really keep dirt and ground crap outside. Nice tie downs and pole cleats. Once it's up and you get used to the unusual appearance, the functional features will knock you out. As I stood off in the woods, burning a major number and gazing at my newest gear addition set up at lakeside, I once again said "Goddamn, I love Mountain Hardwear shit." This is a relatively inexpensive tent clearly made to do battle. I even intend to take it to Tuckerman's this year and forgo the lean-tos for a change. If you need a 3 season tent and want a little more room to groove in, buy it.
