Patagonia Big Mountain Beanie

Patagonia Big Mountain Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2010

This is a great beanie. The shape is perfect and the materials are top notch. It's relatively breathable but needs a shell hood in really windy conditions. And for what it's worth, the styles are usually pretty easy on the eyes.

Patagonia Cord Pant - Men's

Patagonia Cord Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 17, 2009

I really like the fit ... not baggy, not slim, just right. The weight of the cotton is spot on as well. I can wear these year round with sneaks or boots on colder days and with flips on warmer days. They aren't cheap but are well made and should last for many years. Also, it seems like the Coriander as pictured here has more of a golden hue than what I have but then again it could be my monitor.

Burton Custom Smalls Snowboard - Kids' - 09/10

December 14, 2009

If it were me, I would steer clear of a child's snowboard for this young man. In particular, size 10 shoes may lead to a bit of toe drag on this somewhat narrow (231mm) board. Additionally, the weight and age would justify a slightly longer board than what is available in this model. For example, I would consider the 151cm Burton Clash if he is riding the whole mountain or perhaps the 152cm Burton Deuce if he is spending most of his time in the park.

Patagonia Footwear Boaris Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 7, 2009

I really like the style of these kicks and the Vibram sole is a really nice touch. Unfortunately they were just a bit too narrow for my foot and after three days there were some pain points on the outside of the foot where the stitching creates a noticeable seam.

Oakley A-Frame Goggle

Oakley A-Frame Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

I have yet to find another goggle that outperforms the A Frames. They vent well, they are very comfortable on my largish noggin, they fit well with my helmet, and they look sick. The Blue Iridium lenses work really well for Colorado blue bird days and have survived numerous swipes from stray tree branches.

Burton Bullet Snowboard - Wide - 08/09

February 4, 2009

Honestly, with size 13 kicks this board may be a bit narrow for you. Length is really more dependent on the terrain type but at your physical description I'd be looking for a board in the 163 to 168 range with a waist width in the 26.5 ballpark.

Marmot Rubicon Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 4, 2009

I've used this shell for a variety activities and it has done well in everything it has faced. For skiing/snowboarding it's a great shell that can be used in a wide range of weather conditions. I took it sailing in the San Juan islands and it proved it's waterproof capabilities in a consistent down pour. My only complaint is the stitching is starting to fray and the hook & loop closures on the wrist have worn out quickly.

I've had my Rover for nearly 5 years and I still love it. I have gotten many compliments on it's appearance from both guys and gals. So yeah, the field of view is great considering they aren't spherical. And the Sensor lens is great for flat and low light. It's hard to find any serious faults with this helmet.
