Volkl Chopstick Alpine Ski

Volkl Chopstick Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 3 October 11, 2011

skied these the last two years. Not bad, not great. The rocker is minimal, sure that makes them better on groomers, but if you are buying these, why do you care about groomers?

For fat ski, they dont float that well, not in comparison to the new hellbent or a number of other more rockered skis out there. This is especially annoying if you, like me, bought them because they are symmetrical. I ski and land switch a lot in the pow, these center mounted just dont have enough float because of that minimal rise.

They were decent when they came out, outdated now.

Best Binders ever made

Rossignol FKS 180 Ski Binding

Rossignol FKS 180 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 December 31, 2009

There is a pretty strong consensus that these are the best bindings out there. As others have said, they are light for a 18DIN binding, and release when needed but never when it is not wanted. The only bindings that even come close in my estimation are Jesters, and I still prefer the feel of these. Glad that they finally came out with a wide brake so I will actually have brakes on my skis and ski patrol will stop giving me bad looks.. On the old p18's the only weakness was the plastic ring which held down the brakes, it tended to shatter. These have fixed that with a metal construction, a good improvement.
