Significant size variation in Sahara Gramicci jeans

The Carbon-colored Gramicci Mountain Jeans that I bought a few weeks ago fit and work wonderfully (I wore them for a full week of backpacking in Colorado); however, the same-sized, Sahara-colored Gramicci Mountain Jeans that I bought afterward were so small that I had to return them. Gramicci warns of size variations due to dying processes, but I think that purchasers should be aware that the variations may be so great as to make them un-wearable.
