Investing on Arcteryx products had proved to my family that really compensates... technology and design. Great skiing jacket. I was going to buy the SV model but thanks to chat on line (thank you so much, I always use and abuse the chat on line staff...) I got this model that is more a skiing/sports shape and also the SV model showed some "hood" complaints on the reviews. The hood on this model is great , the skirt the length... Still one only suggestion is that it had more pockets. My husband (we have two kids) is the sherpa of the family, so to carry power bars, radio, maps, warmers, turtle neck he felt a lack of pockets. So what he basically does is... On very cold days he used this model. In less cold days he used the The North Face ST Apogee Jacket that we purchased form backcountry 4 years ago, that has no insulation but great wind protection + hundreds of pockets.... BTW my husband is 1,93m. and storng so I got him an XXL...

Very comfortable, and light. Fitting close to body so make sure you get a size bigger then you would expect. The sip makes all the difference Really great against odor issue Smells great even after sweaty days!

There are not many options for children on boots without laces. I don't know why, so I got my girl these boots, as it makes things much easier to put on and remove boots fast. I was afraid they would not be so warm as they are not made of suede. But after 2 weeks in Colorado Mountains skiing and one week in north Ontario, together with warm socks she was the warmest feet in the family! The light color was not a problem, did not get dirty...Thank you Columbia for developing cool and efficient boots for little girls.

Great skiing jacket!
As kids are impatient (when it comes to layering) I wanted a mixture of insulation + wind protection, as most of the skiing jackets only offer one of these two factors. Plus, I did not want to spend a fortune for obvious reasons My boy is 11 so will grow out of it soon. I got the striped color for him witch helped me to spot him on the mountain. Also a unisex color so it can go to my girl in the future Even on coldest skiing days on the freezing mountains, he never needed more then a shirt plus fleece layer, so it did keep him warm and dry at all times! The little goggle cleaner attached to pocket plus the “spare” badge were also cute gadgets that my boys appreciate!

I had never purchased 1/4 zippered long sleeve for my children before It makes all the difference when they have to put on layers as kids tend to be so impatience. So instead of turtle neck common shirts (children hate dressing turtle neck shirts) my girl had this spyder zip shirt under her fleece sweater +_ skiing jacket every day It is comfy and stylish, great color btw.!

Ok I HAVE to leave a feedback on these mittens After 14 years complaining to my husband that my hands are cold when we ski (specially on higher slopes), and after 14 years my husband being inpatient because I have probably purchased 5 pairs of expensive gloves/mittens over the years and never managed to really be warm. I would always be winning and the cold on my hands were a down side of our skiing seasons My suffering has come to an end. It was the first time that I did not even need warmers. OK it is not very easy to hold the poles but after some days I got used to it.
I would also recommend second skin gloves under them because you not very agile on your hands so when I had to clean my nose or take pics I had to remove them, if I did not had the second skin gloves I would obviously freeze and it would take a risk of not being as warm and comfy as I was on the first place Now cant OR develop something for my feet?

Only one in the family that was not cold on the feet... Everybody else nedeed feet warmers... Heavyweight warmth!

I am not a small person and my face is not small, but my 'UNISSEX" PAIR OF OAKLEY WISDOM GOGGLES NEVER SEEMED TO FIT MY FACE. They TEND TO GET FOGGY AND ALWAYS ON TOP OF MY HOOD! I decided to give it a shot and invest on these ones. Not only they are really shaped for womens faces but also they are more stylish! Try to fit them on your skin, not on top of the hood to avoid fogginess!

I am suspicious to evaluate TNF items because I am a number one fan of them! The The North Face Velocitee 1/4-Zip Shirt is so comfortable and warm that despite its lightness I did not need a extra fleece sweater for the first time in my life. I dont understand what technology is put on this shirt but it kept me warm with no need for any other layers witch makes the skiing in extreme cold weather much more comfortable! And as it fits quite well and is sort of stylish I ended up wearing it for after ski also Totally avoids odors¦
