Mountain Hardwear Medusa Glove

Mountain Hardwear Medusa Glove

I'm a big MH fan but these gloves fell a little short of my expectations. I liked the idea of a modular glove for BC skiing and this one looks good on paper.

My biggest hangup is the stiffness of the glove. I'm not sure whether its the materials or the cut of the articulation but I find glove to feel stiffer than I like. It's not a bulky glove but it feels like one when using the liner and shell.

I also thought the glove would have been warmer than I'm finding. If I had a shot at redesigning I would add some insulation to the back of the outer shell and find a way to increase the flexibility of the shell.

Not a bad glove just not I'd hoped for...

Best I've tried

I think I've tried so many brands of long underwear including Craft, MH, Smartwool, Ibex, EMS, Mammut but never found anything that kept me really dry. I've used underwear mostly use my base layers while backcountry skiing so I'm either pumping out the sweat on a climb or cool on a descent. It's a tall order for any garment.

The Phase AR top is far and away the best I've tried yet. Seems to stay dry in all situations and has surprising warmth for a thin layer. I couldn't be more impressed with the piece and immediately ordered up a second top. Well done Arcteryx!!
