Mountain Hardwear Phantom Down Jacket - Men's

I loved this jacket from the time I bought it until the first time I wore it in the woods. I bought it to wear on summits and around camp. Upon arriving at camp, I put it on and was immediately toasty. Then I went to answer nature's call and the sleeve tore open on a tree branch. Feathers were flying everywhere. I was crushed.

If you're looking for a super warm, super light jacket to wear around town, this is the one for you. Just don't wear it around trees. If you're looking for a jacket you can wear in the mountains, you'd do well to look elsewhere.

Sacrifice comfort for weight

I've had this pack for almost 2 years and am generally pleased with it. It fits enough gear for a weekend overnight and I love the hip belt pockets for my camera and energy bars. My only complaint is that when the pack is fully loaded with gear, food, and water, the shoulder straps dig into my shoulders pretty hard. I guess you have to give up some comfort and padding if you want to keep the weight of the pack down.
