i ordered this jacket to wear for backcountry skiing, hiking, ice climbing and some mountaineering. and so far this jacket is great at regulating my heat. its a really cool jacket to layer with. iv worn this jack in temperature ranges form the single digits to the 40s, (when its cold remember that belay jacket). and always stayed perfectly balanced. my biggest qualm with this jacket is that is so light weight(paper thin). i am really worried about the durability. i would not be cool to rip the sleeve on a multi pitch alpine route. i have Patagonia's simple guide pant which are also rated as lightweight and they are 4 times as thick as this coat. the bottom line is its a really good soft shell that breaths really well. but the durability is in question. i would suggest checking it out in person before ordering it
