Works perfect on snow and I use this for airsoft as well.
Pros: It's thin and can be worn under pants. Very well secured, confy and does not grab branches when I crawling on the ground.
Cons: Too thin (the foam is only 1/4 inch thick) to absorb the impact from landing on hard surface like concrete or rocks.

I have this pair, too. It's 1/2 inch thick and I can land my knees on rocks without hesitation.
