Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System

June 2, 2010

How powerful is the stove on this guy? Is this primarily for making warm drinks and soups, or could you feasibly cook a stove top meal with the pot holder adapter?

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 4 May 28, 2010

Yes the pad is super light, extremely compact, and surprisingly comfortable - but the NeoAir is not very rugged. After just a few uses on a tarp over ground cleared of sticks and rocks the NeoAir had a small rip that caused it to leak.

I was able to repair the leak with a patch quite easily, and it now has no trouble holding air through the night, but knowing if I was out on a trip and sustained several rips I would be without a pad is not very comforting.

I love the pad, it performs its intended functions phenomenally, but durability is certainly not a strong point so be careful.

Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Men's

February 18, 2010

The only difference is the zippers - the Rain Shadow has waterproof zippers and the Torrentshell has no waterproof zippers and instead a velcro waterproof flap. That and $50 - so if not having a flap is worth $50 than go with the Rain Shadow.
