S6 after 3 days - UGLY but functional

Suunto S6 Watch - 2003 Model

the light grey color of the bracelet and watch case are ugly enough that you wouldn't consider wearing it other than around your hard core buddies. Why so?… I am baffled. I also question the durability of the bracelet as it seems rubber or urethane (it also reeks!). But the watch functions very well and I think it might even be used for paragliding with a bit of vario track in memory. Why Suunto doesn't develop that function also baffles me; it would require so little at this point...
