I use this for Search and Rescue in WA. Astonishingly bright spot for crazy distances, great flood for close work. Batteries last forever. Only quibble is the weight, but if you need to see, for real, this is the light.

Just got this (it's the 2008 version - new and improved) and used it on a 6 day in the Olympics (lots of serious ups and downs, rough terrain). I've had a Bora in the past and it and I never quite clicked. However, I almost immediately fell in love with this pack - the lumbar support that felt a bit odd at first quickly became the best part of it - forcing all the weight onto my hips. This was the first extended trip that I got back from without a wrecked back and damaged shoulders - and I was carrying probably 55 lbs (stupid bear canister). All the components are well thought out, the extra features are all actually features instead of added weight, and it feels very solid without being overkill (nb Bora). If you're looking for a serious pack that can haul lots of gear for an extended trip, definitely check this out - just make sure you like the lumbar pad.

Got this jacket a few weeks ago, and it was performing well, but this last weekend it really proved itself. Went skiing with it at mt. baker in absolute pooring rain and very high winds. the rest of me got soaked, but everything under the shell was completely dry- everything just beaded up and ran off. It did a great job of keeping the wind out as well. Haven't tested the breathability in hot conditions yet, but so far it's everything I was after- versatile, functional, and rugged. Highly recommended.
