I picked up a pair of the 2010/11 version of these pants at the end of last season and they are Dermizax EV 30/20K rather than 3L Gore offered this year but so far the material is totally bomber and the design/thought that went into them is awesome. I have about 15 days on them so far this season with half of those on a splitboard and the other at the resort.

I can't believe that this is my first pair of bibs cause after these I'll never go back to pants. When touring, throwing skins in the bibs while riding is so much easier than stuffing them in your jacket. I really like the back bib as well because when changing over and taking off your shell I found that any snow that may still be on your backpack didn't end up soaking through my mid layer touring hoodie and eventually my baselayer. Inner thigh vents and 3/4 length leg zips make venting almost too easy and the two main pockets are exactly where they should be. An added touch which I didn't even realize what it was until the third time I wore them was the bottle opener sewn on to the pants, ha...the paint didn't last on that very long after!

Definitely recommended and this years pants are even better with 3L Gore!

This camera is pretty sweet but there are a couple of minor improvements that I think could still be made. Number one, the GPS is totally overrated and basically a battery suck. After using it two or three times I haven't turned it on since due to the amount of battery it wastes. Carrying multiple batteries is a must if you plan on being out all day and unfortunately I lost my spare the second day out so I've had to figure out a system to max out my battery throughout the days. The other issue is the flat lens on snorkel days. You can hit the sickest line only to get to the bottom and find snow completely covering the lens. I think the GoPro has the better lens design but overall the GoPro kinda makes you look like a muppet whereas this is much discreet on the side of your head.

Pretty much the standard for splitboarders....compact, light and simple...

Initially when I saw these I thought that I would never in a million years where these but after reading a ton of reviews from the Backcountry Pro Team I thought hey what the hell, they are really well priced and everyone seems to love them. Well...now I know why. I picked a pair up at the start of the 2010/11 season and I wore them every single day I was on the mountain. Whether riding lifts or splitting these things are bad ass. Yes you kind of look like a knob when initially putting them on but once your pants are over top of them nobody would ever know that you even have them on. I think my favorite feature as a snowboarder is is dry pants. Ever sat down for an extended period of time in the snow, inevitably the heat from your ass or you knees will melt the snow and then your pants get wet regardless if you have Gore or eVent pants. Now I just drop to my knees and because of the shell the heat doesn't transfer so I don't end up with wet knees or a soaking ass. Hey...what's not to like about that....ha....great for touring as well....even on the coldest days you can get away with the lightest pair of long underwear because these cover your knees and help regulate your temp quite well.

Simple, light and you don't have fit it around your boots. For ski/snowboard mountaineering there is nothing else out there that even comes close to comparing.

I had a Tracker DTS but decided to upgrade when I started getting more serious about my backcountry pursuits and avalanche training. Although the Tracker is a good beacon it just doesn't compare to the features found on the Pulse Barryvox. For multiple burials it is incredible and although the stats aren't good for multiple burials I feel a hell of a lot more confident that I could find my buds a lot faster if it were to ever happen.

I just picked this up from the Backcountry Outlet and I am quite honestly blown away by how much info is in this book. If you would like to pick the brain of a bunch of different mountain guides, a medical doctor, a meteorologist and a glaciologist then you will probably like this book as much I did. The book is like taking the AST1 and 2 courses and then adding in another couple of courses covering first aid, navigation, rope and climbing techniques and a ton of other information. Yes, it is written by a skier but it doesn’t focus too much on skiing so it is great for boarders as well. Just the “Mountaineering Skills” chapter is worth the $40...

Killer shirt....doesn't itch, is really warm, breathes and wicks really well, thumb holes rule and no stink....merino wool is the way to go....

The blade just barely fit into my old 2002 Dakine Poacher but nonetheless it fit. Fortunately, I just picked up a new Poacher and the avi pocket is much bigger so it fits no problem. I'm a big fan of pretty much everything on this shovel. The blade design is extremley strong and able to clear a ton of snow very quickly. I bought this basically because of the handle design. The rectangular shaft and handle provide a ton of grip and it is dead simple to set up.

hahaha....I just picked this bag up off of SAC for $65. This is my second Poacher and my last one lasted 7 years and that is after putting it through absolute hell and back. Every feature on this bag is so well though out and I guaruntee that you will have people asking about it. Back access...enough said...by far the best feature. The newer feature of the separate avi tools pockets is going to be great. Now to just rig up an avalung into it and its set....don't look any further...this is the bag that you want....

Just picked this up and after trying it on and comparing it to Arcteryx jackets I was sold. Number one, I ride so I didn't want to look like a skier with a skin tight Arcteryx jacket. The construction is flawless with only the bare minimum of what you need so it is incredibly light which will be great for splitting. The cut is just sick too....I love how the back end is cut low which is great for snowboarders. The eVent is simply incredible too...I have Special Blend gore-tex pants and they are great but there really is no comparison. eVent is here to stay and I will not be spending any more money on gore-tex.

I bought this package for my gf and needless to say she had lost the goggles within a week...regardless of that though, I wish that I would have bought this lid....one it looks great and two the audio system is the best I've seen and the reason for that is the simple mute button right beside the volume wheel on the cord which can be attached outside of your jacket. The thing I hate most is getting on or off the chairlift and having to try and grab that annoying little wheel with gloves on...its impossible so you always just end up taking your gloves off....with this system it is so simple that I don't get why other riding companies haven't picked up on it...a big giant mute button that can be hit with gloves on is definitely the simplest and easiest way....

Great beacon....so incredibly simple and accurate. After doing some test runs at the beacon field the instructor of the AST1 course had set up some scenarios half way down the mountain. Two different scenarios, three bured beacons each time and a group of five searchers pulled out all three beacons each time in under 10 minutes. Not bad considering most people had never used them...
