This jacket is the de facto standard of it's type for style and warmth that many jackets are compared to- you will find duplicates of it made by LL Bean, Mountain Hardware, Marmot, etc. It's debateable which is the best, but The Norht Face has a longstanding good reputation although it comes at a slightly higher price.
It does not stop wind or water, so anything colder than 15 degrees or with 10+ mph winds you really should have a shell jacket over it. And if down gets wet you might as well take it off.
Like the Denali fleece, the Nuptse is made to zip into several Gore-Tex aka Hyvent shells TNF makes, although they are expensive (because of the PTFE aka Teflon they are made with) they do add an extra layer of warmth and extra types of protections. You can really tell the difference when a shell is added to it too.
