2 stars for not recommended...for me! I know many runners love these shoes and I had to give them a try, but they are just not for or my feet. hey felt like ballet slippers and I would not make it through Hardrock 100 with these minimalist shoes. Also I found the support wasn't enough, I was pronating really bad...and I wear on the roads the Saucony Kinvaras, which are quite minimal, but seem to be more stable.
I'll stick with my higher heeled Montrails, which I ordered after returning these ;-)

This fuel is great, in a blog post once I called it rocket fuel.

What I like most about this gel is the consistency, it's more like water than a gel, the flavor is somewhat sweet, but not gagging sweet...I also like the fact that I'm not only getting calories, but electrolytes and amino acids while consuming it. One flask is about equivalent to 4 gels, so you can carry it in your hand and take a small chug every 30-40 minutes. Try it, you'll like it!

La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's

January 31, 2012

Leo, check out my review above for a link to how to make them a little wider. I have really wide feet and I've made these feel like slippers. Here's an image as a before/after of my shoes.

Nice for the roads

Saucony ProGrid Kinvara 2 Running Shoe - Men's

This is one of my go to shoes to wear when I "have" to train on harder surfaces. They are comfortable right out of the box and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the found the forefoot area a little narrow...but I have a really wide forefoot from smashing them down for 37 years! ;-) I have over 200 miles on my pair and they have plenty of months left to go before I retire them.

Love this jacket!

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

This jacket has been my go to to wear when I know I'm going to be in the mountains in inclement weather. It's somewhat waterproof (I wouldn't want a waterproof jacket), has pit zips, a nice hood with easy to use pull cords and is extremely packable. It doesn't pack fist size, but a fist sized jacket just won't give me the protection I need when up on a 14'er during a snowstorm.

Too much shoe for me

La Sportiva Electron Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Electron Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 January 31, 2012

As a regular wearer of the Crosslite, I found these shoes to be a little too much for my feet. They are higher from the ground, thus much more cushioned, if you like that. Yet, the cushion isn't so much that you don't feel low to the trail. These shoes fit a little small/tight, so up your size by a half size.

Great shoe for the office for a trail runner who loves low shoes

Sanuk Board Room Shoe - Men's

Bought a pair of these to wear at work and love them. Zero drop heel to toe and a great look...wore them all last year, even in the New England winter and they worked well, I'll be getting another pair for this year.

Great mountain running shoe

La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Crosslite Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

After 20 years of ultra trail running, the original La Sportiva Crosslites are one of my favorites. I generally get over 500 miles on a pair, they are low to the ground, are stable and have fantastic traction. I have worn these at races such as the Speedgoat 50K in Utah and the Hardrock Hundered in Colorado with no problems.
My only mod I make to the shoe is to remove the corset over the laces to better allow me to make adjustments to these and to give me a little more comfy room for my foot. Here's a blog post I wrote on the La Sportiva blog on how to do this easily. http://mountainrun.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/crosslites-review-and-little-tlc/
