Answer to: "I'm looking for a tent that is warm enough and sturdy enough"

MSR Asgard Tent 2-Person 4-Season

Wilderness Equipment First Arrow. This is a traditional tunnel tent so is dependent on being secured at each end. That said has a number of advantages over every other tent I have used:
1. Amazing ventilation - have used in 35deg C high humidity weather as well as well below freezing with minimal condensation and comfortable inside
2. Outer pitch first or simultaneously pitch inner and outer so inner stays dry
3. Most useable, large vestibule with best head height in any backpacking tent I have seen (including most expedition 6+ person tents)
4. 4 Season stability - have used this tent in Patagonia and was the only tent still standing in one of the largest campsites at Torre del Paine after a big storm (weighed down pegs with 20+ kg rocks and guylines onto trees)
5 Number of options for outer shell depending on your budget and weight requirements

This tent has had minimal design changes for almost 30 years, buy it and you will see why.

Unusual fit for effective jacket

Large fit

Marmot Midweight Crew - Men's

Own several pieces of marmot gear and have consistently been size large, which is consistent with their sizing charts. The large of this piece is fairly loose compared to other bits of gear so consider sizing down if want a trim fit. Been great so far, planning to give it more rigourous testing in a couple of weeks with a winter trip to alpine regions
