I have these pants but the version that was still made under the Backcountry.com brand. These are not "loose", but not tight either. I find them to be really comfortable. I'd recommend them as long as the slightly tighter fit doesn't bother you that much.

So are there pitzips? I have a MH typhoon and am looking for something more durable, like a snowboarding jacket. Is the breathability enough to make up for them even during highly aerobic activites and windproofing enough for less aerobic activies as well (such as waiting for the bus?).

I'm wondering how this compares to the MH windstopper tech jacket as a midlayer under a shell (tech or mh paclite rain shell). Specifically, I sweat really easily and a lot so I'm thinking the lack of windproofness may be a benefit though as it may increase the breathability. Thanks. Also and suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, and climbing is a habit of mine so range of movement would be crucial.

I am wondering how this would serve as a midlayer. My concern is that I sweat a LOT and VERY easily and therefore need something very breathable. I also wonder about how this would slide under a shell (technical or just a paclite). I am concerned that windproofing and water resistance would be counter-productive in this sense for me, especially in highly arobic activities. I have a Backcountry.com Stoic softshell which is really wind proof so I'm more concerned about the layering capabilities rather than using it as a standalone jacket. Thanks.
