I bought the small version of this last-minute before a month long backpacking trip to Europe. It seemed great, was a fit for all I needed to pack and I tossed it into the car's trunk and headed to the airport.
When I arrived and pulled the handle, the extension was very short. I thought this was weird, but it refused to lengthen any more. As I wheeled the suitcase, I kept unintentionally lifting the entire suitcase up, so I just carried it by the side strap like a regular bag, which I ended up doing for the entire trip. Convenient placement, but my sore arms were not pleased. After I returned home, I figured out that the handle's lock mechanism was faulty, and kept on getting stuck midway so it couldn't be fully extended.
Not only that, but at the airport this size which is claimed to fit carry-on standards was deemed to be slightly too big, so I had to check it. I also kept getting commented on big how the wheels were, which they are and actually got stuck on the chute drop to the baggage carousel, clogging it and blocking everyone else's luggage from dropping, leaving me mortified as angry sleep-deprived flyers glared at me.
On the plus side, the bottom of the bag is as durable as stated, as I dragged it over gravel and concrete all month trying to wheel it around (to no avail) and yet it doesn't look too shabby. If it hadn't been for the defective handle, the too large for carry-on dimensions and too large wheels, it would've been perfect.
