Rab Latok Alpine Jacket - Men's
October 17, 2010
While I did not encounter rain, it was really windy and cold above 14k feet. The jacket breathed well and kept me from freezing.

Rab Latok Alpine Jacket - Men's
December 27, 2010
Phil has already answered this question, but I feel it is worth seconding for anyone else who may be considering the jacket. I have had numerous hard falls skiing and there have been absolutely no marks or abrasions to the fabric. I have had a pretty bad spill while hiking and thought for sure the rocks had cut up my jacket, not so. I just dusted it off and it was good as new. I also agree with its ability to keep out snow, just pull on the elastic draw cords and I have never had snow come in from below the waist while skiing.

Marmot Crib Tent 2-Person 3-Season
April 6, 2010
My girlfriend and I have the crib 3 person tent and we are pretty happy with it. The crib has two vents on the rain fly that can be opened or closed. In a very heavy constant rain we kept them open and had no rain come in. We did notice a little pooling of water on one side just above the door. I got out and tightened the rain fly over the tent a little bit more and the problem went away. There was a slight bit of condensation that same morning, but everything remained dry.
We got the three person crib because we like the idea of keeping our camera gear inside the tent rather than in the vestibules and I like having the extra room.
The only thing I am not impressed with is the clips that the poles snap into along the ridges of the tent. Three of them have had the the little tab snap off but the hook still remains and it still functions. Once everything is snapped together its a non-issue, but annoying that the first time three of the tabs broke.
While the 3 person Crib is not the lightest tent around, it still fits in a 60L pack with almost everything I would need for a weekend backpacking trip for me and my girlfriend. Also get the footprint, it helps keep the tent in good shape and also made cleanup of the tent after a muddy weekend a snap because only the fly got mucked up by mud/sand.

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Sleeping Pad
March 4, 2010
I agree with Lori. I had been keeping mine in a ziplock bag, which I feel is overkill now because the pad seems durable enough to not need a "protective" bag. I found a nifty velcro cinch strap for 79 cents at the hardware store that works great to keep it rolled up in my bag.

Castelli Dome Due Bike Short - Men's
May 16, 2009
I have a 32" waist as well and an athletic build. The large fits pretty well. The waist feels fine but its a bit tight on my thighs, if you have big quads opt for the XL. Hope that helps.

Giordana Tenax Bib Short - Men's
December 15, 2008
I wear a 32 waist pant and am 6' tall and I wear a large bib short from Giordana. It fits ok, but not tight by any means. Giordana claims a Large fits up to a 36 waist and I think that you boyfriend would get a more proper fit than I did out of my Large. So to sum up my convoluted answer I would go for a Large, hope that helps
