I ordered up & had to return..my normal size gives me enough room to wear my tnf oso hoody underneath & it's about as thick as thermal fleece jackets get..I would like to help with sizing, medium jacket length is 37.5"..sleeves 24.5"..17.5" from seem to seem on shoulders..chest 42"..waist 38..hips 44..very generous cut..even with thick layers I have plenty of room..the coat is a bit thick but not nearly enough to warrant sizing up imo...I'm an hourglass shape, busty(36d), small waist, large shoulders & wear a 5 or 7..the medium fits me fine..problem with ordering up is the already large waist is so big it stands out away from your body(because of the a frame design) and will allow cold air to come all the way up to your chin from under the coat & chill your entire body. I have one and just bought one for my mom...we are always so cold...these are worth every penny...forget layers with this one all I need is a tank top underneath and I'm toasty warm...they aren't water proof but that doesn't matter, they still help you retain heat even when wet...the oso is also oh so soft...only downfall is they tend to run a bit smaller in width than my other north face jackets..not a big deal because you really don't need to layer under it but it runs a bit shorter in the sleeve and waist length too..I would suggest you order up a size if you like your jackets loose or if you are tall. I'm 5'5 and the medium hits me right at my wrist bone...the waist almost touches the top my low rise jeans..not a long jacket in my normal size but VERY warm and comfy....worth it!!

forgot to mention in my review that they do shed but only when new and unwashed...just need to wash it a couple of times and the shedding problem will be gone...It's a very soft warm jacket..get one!!

GREAT jacket...chalked full of detail...my first spyder purchase..love it.. they pay close attention to detail...this is super warm and has a very cool design. I bought this for my son, whom you could'nt pay to wear a jacket...he thought this was so cool he wears it everywhere...I wore it to put up christmas decorations outside...it was a cold windy night and I was toasty. Plenty of cinch cords to tighten down and seal in warmth..can even nip in the waist to combat the michelin man look.
