The North Face Chilkats Winter Boot - Women's

My friend and I attended the Tubbs and Susan G Komen's 2005 Utah Romp to Stomp out Breast Cancer Snowshoe walk (http://www.tubbsromptostomp.com/) and loved it so much we bought our 1st pair of showshoes later that day. At the event, Columbia Bugabootoo snow boots were being given away as raffle prizes. Since we didn't win the raffle, we thought, "We better get a pair of those to go with our snowshoes." We went to a local outdoor retailer and tried them on. They were so uncomfortable. As I was researching the many snow boot options on the Web, I stumbled across backcountry.com. Since they are located Utah my friend and I were able to go to their outlet and try on the North Face Chilkats. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! These fit like Italian leather gloves - light and supple. However, their value is in more than just comfort - they are warm and more like a hiking shoe than a snow boot. They are very easy on the feet after snowshoeing 5k. We are so glad we didn't win the raffle because not only did we find our perfect snow boot, we also found our perfect outdoor gear store!
