First impressions so far is that it is a nicely turning boot, well designed, light, a good compromise between ascent weight and flexibility, and descent toebox rigidity and ankle grabbing control. It is most definitely worth the price.
I do think there are some mods I might need to do however. They seem to give me "flat feet" to some extent, I think the arch in the instep doesn't suit my foot well. Either SuperFeet or maybe adding the thermo liners might help this, have to experiment.
Other people have also suggested retrofitting a stiffer tongue and I can see the logic of this. The low tech way would be to just bring an old downhill boot tongue of suitable dimensions in the pack and clamp it under for the descents, and some guy on the internet has detailed instructions for actually refitting a Koflach mountain or snowboard boot tongue in there. Not sure I'm feeling that brave.
Note that next year this boot will offer a thermoflex liner so unless you are getting a great price (like I did) might be worth the wait. You can get it with the liner now if you order straight from Europe, but the shipping cost is so brutal that it won't be worth it for most of us working stiffs.
