Steeze of the Season

Steeze of the Season

by Sickgnar Powsteeze

At Dogfunk, lookin’ fly and living the dream are always on our mind, so we decided to compile a short (like shorter than the to-do list you lost under your car seat) photo gallery of the steezy outerwear we peeped at the resort this year. While we tried to get out there with our crappy point-and-shoot as often as possible, we definitely spent more of the company money on shredding than taking pictures. Although we surely missed a lot of rad kits because we were distracted by face shots, we do feel like we learned a very important lesson this season—style matters.

Gallery 1: The Locals

Pink & Blue

Beth and Blue reppin’ the shred at the Bird—we love it when peeps get out the throwback onepiece with the added hip-pack for the PB&J.

Survival Man

“If I’m going to survive the wrath of the mountain, I’ll need some manly sustenance. What, you don’t sell cheesecake?!” Survival Man wins our award for second-best onepiece.

The Clash

Dude—I thought we talked about this. Weekdays are neon days!

Denim Dudley

Rocking jeans on a powder day never gets old—yeah right. Check out this denim jacket and pant—get your denim fix and leave the jorts at home. And no, we don’t sell Starter jackets, though we did rock one back in the day (Oakland A’s—BAY AREA reprazent!)

Now that you’ve seen a couple standout looks from the resort, its time to peep what the pros are repping.

The Pro(per) Previews

The ProSteeze

Eero Ettala, Caitlin Ritchey & Cheryl Maas taking a break from riding sweet spring conditions at The Canyons. Eero (in Oakley) and Cheryl (in Volcom) seem to always be a year ahead of everyone else.

Chillin’ with my chips

Lauri Heiskari rocking some of next season’s DC goods.

Gratuitous RIDE Plug

Men’s 9/10 RIDE Outerwear Preview

We’re pretty sure this stuff is made for snowboarding, but it looks pretty sweet in dark alleyways too. Hardingham, David Aubrey, and JJ Thomas doing the model thing.

Women’s 9/10 RIDE Outerwear Preview

For some reason, this pattern reminds us of that movie labyrinth—thank God man-tights aren’t acceptable anymore. RIDE’s new line looks dopeshow, BTW, and you’ll definitely see it in next year’s video footy. Speaking of videos…

…Let’s all go to the lobby

To spice things up like a Cajun swamp party, we got MFM from SOUND and Scotty from Airblaster to give us a little personal attention at SIA-Vegas. Here’s what we learned.

and now for something completely different…

Random Interweb Gratification

As usual we wondered what YouTube had to offer, and as usual our search for steeze resulted in a lengthy collection of inexplicable videos posted by 15-year olds, we managed to cull this gem from FACTOR Films:

For most people it’s hard to even fathom how hard Lucas Magoon represents. Check out this clip from Under Par Productions’ Keep Talkin’. Not only is Ghostface rappin’ over a sick beat, but you can also learn some new butterfly-knife tricks from the Gooner too… umm yeah… knives on the lift—that’s scary G.
