These shorts are nothing like the product in the description. They have literally none of the features listed above. The seams are neither welded nor taped, they're just regular old fashioned seams and there are plenty of them (hello chafing!). The fabric is not lightweight or hydrophobic, and has NO STRETCH WHATSOEVER. If you just want a pair of shorts for sitting poolside, these should be fine. If you want something for high performance surfing, though, DO NOT BUY THESE. I'm exceedingly disappointed in these shorts, and I'd be sending them back if it weren't so expensive to do so.

ANOTHER UPDATE: I finally found a pair of Rip Curl boardshorts that actually have all the features that these are supposed to, and they're AWESOME. The welded seams are like a dream! No more chafing! A little more pricey, but worth it if you actually surf. You can score a pair here...

UPDATE: At least the customer service here is great. I contacted the company to notify them of the problem, and they're letting me return the shorts at no cost to me. My review of the shorts themselves still stands unaltered, but my faith has been restored in the vendor.
