Let the Gore-Tex Patagonia Women’s Powder Bowl Jacket comfort you when the alarm goes off long before the sun comes up. This waterproof breathable ski shell gives you full weather protection on early dawn patrols and lift-accessed skiing alike. Patagonia sandwiched a waterproof breathable Gore-Tex layer between a recycled polyester shell and a mesh lining, so you stay dry and comfortable, no matter the conditions or terrain. A variety of pockets hold your ski pass, camera, and goggles. When the sun’s blazin’, zip off the adjustable hood and open up the pit-zips for max air flow. When you’ve beaten the jacket to tatters, send it back to Patagonia’s Common Threads Recycling Program.

My first goretex jacket

I used this shell layered on top of a couple of baselayers- this jacket rocked in CO on a powder day!

Jackets like that are primarily for protection from the elements. More than likely, you will want to layer. A light base layer, a fleece, and the Patagonia shell should be exactly what you need. In the case of any breathable shell, it isn't necessarily made for warmth. I find shells to have a bit more versatility over the insulated jackets.

Wen,
it might be nice to have a fleece and a nice base layer to keep you warm with the Powder Bowl Jacket for chilly days on the hill. There's also an Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket that packs more warmth and some are able to wear it with just a base layer.

Great Jacket

I've had this coat for two ski seasons now and it has served me well. Lots of nice pockets, good spot for lift ticket. Warm enough on a temperate day. I add an Arcteryx insulated layer on colder days. Feminine and flattering, but still technical looking.
