Better be a true whole size

I knew I would love these shorts, so I went to a local shop to try them on for size. The medium was way too tight, so I automatically assumed the large would fit perfectly. Not so! They were huge, which meant I wouldn't fit in either size. Disappointing, for sure, because they are awesome hiking shorts...or where around town shorts...or to cookouts -- you name it. Wish they came in regular increment sizes, i.e. 8, 10, 12, etc. I must be somewhere in between.
How deep is the side cargo zip pocket? I'm going on a vacation
How deep is the side cargo zip pocket? I'm going on a vacation to Universal and I want good cargo shorts that will hold my camera, and a ziplock bag with money, ID, sunscreen, and other small essentials so I don't have to carry a bag. And I don't want anything falling out on a ride!

Hey there - the cargo pocket is about 6" deep and zippered. Very secure!

Great for us ladies that don't need shorty-shorts

I am not a rock climber, but I wish I was to test out these shorts.
That said, these fit my style. I can't wear those short inseam short-shorts. Hate 'em. I also have a really hard time finding shorts that fit my long torso, smaller waist yet athletic quads. These work. I have to get most of my pants/shorts taken in 2-3" in the waist, but not these.
The sizing is a bit tough. The mediums were way to big in the waist for me. The smalls are a bit more snug in the hips than I would prefer (preferred the loser Medium let fit), but the waist fits, so I went with it. Albeit they are synthetic material, they appears to stretch out a tad after wearing a few times.
I really like the pockets on the back, too; flattering.
I ordered the large and they are huge. I wear a size 8 in Patagonia.

Ferrosi Short. "Tougher than stone!"

I spend from March until the end of November Rock climbing and Guiding Rock Climbing. The Ferossi short is the FIRST short I did not have to spend the season re-sewing the butt seam together. Not once! I own two pairs of these and I can say I wore them four days a week form the day I got them. These little shorts are TOUGH! The also have a nice style about them. You can go from the crag to dinner and look like you fit right in with the alfresco crowd. I love clothes that I can wear anywhere and not look like a lycra clad super hero! :)
The best short ever!

I love these shorts, I am finding myself wearing them everyday. I wear an 8 or 10 usually and the medium fits perfectly. I usually find that I need to buy shorts big enough to fit my thighs and then they are too big at my waist; this is not the case with the Ferrosi Short :) You'll never want to wear another pair of shorts once you buy these.
Killer short - great fit

This short is awesome - really stretchy and super tough too. Great pocket features to access with a harness on.
