The Oakley Stockholm Goggle doesn’t come with a bottle of Swedish vodka, nor does it smell like herring. Rather, this smoking hot ladies-specific goggle gives women the luscious fit they’ve been waiting for. Oakley sealed temperature-controlled air between two layers of anti-fog-treated polycarbonate lenses to reduce the chance of fog accumulating on your inner lens. Vented air circulates through the goggle to further reduce fog, and triple-layer foam with wicking fleece might make you think you’re wearing a spa mask. Total UV protection, the Stockholm’s excellent impact resistance, and a wide field of vision make this Oakley goggle an intelligent choice for your one-goggle quiver.
Bottom Line:
The Oakley Stockholm Goggle gives your gear the ladies touch.
--I tried on a bunch of Oakley goggles and these were the only ones that fit the curve of my face--no pinching and no gaps. They are also very comfortable. --I have worn them in many conditions -- snow, bluebird, even rain, and have never had them fog up. --I have the G30 lenses, which are pretty great all-around lenses. They do great in bright light and medium light, though on really dark, cloudy days, the contrast is a little low and I recently got Stockholms with persimmon lenses. Persimmon was better, but still not great with the low lighting -- I'd recommend going even to yellow for that. In general, they are some of the most feminine style, fit the female face, and are also a functionally great piece of equipment.
The lens on this is great, no complaints. Even if you tried to fog it up on purpose, it dissipates. The only issue is that the lens is awkwardly huge especially if you have a small face. It wouldn't be that bad but the whole design looks pretty weird.
Just curious if the Stockholm frame is eyeglasses friendly, I
Just curious if the Stockholm frame is eyeglasses friendly, I know a few of oakleys frames are but I am not sure which ones. Any help would be appreciated.
I am not a small person and my face is not small, but my 'UNISSEX" PAIR OF OAKLEY WISDOM GOGGLES NEVER SEEMED TO FIT MY FACE. They TEND TO GET FOGGY AND ALWAYS ON TOP OF MY HOOD! I decided to give it a shot and invest on these ones. Not only they are really shaped for womens faces but also they are more stylish! Try to fit them on your skin, not on top of the hood to avoid fogginess!
You bet! They're pretty simple to remove, and just require a steady hand to keep from scratching anything. You can find the replacement lenses here: http://www.backcountry.com/oakley-stockholm-goggle-replacement-lens
These goggles replaced an ancient pair that I'd had forever, and I wanted to get it right. No worries there. The specs say they're not eyeglass compatible, but they're just about the only goggle I found when trying on pair after pair that *did* fit over my glasses without squashing them into my face.Fit over my helmet no problem. The sticky band is a bit annoying when I'm trying to put my goggles up or down 'cause it takes both hands (which is annoying when trying to hold onto poles with the other hand), but I can see why it would be helpful for preventing slipping if that was a problem. They do fog up occasionally, but clear as soon as I start moving again, so I'm not too worried. With glasses underneath I expect some fogging of both glasses and goggles.
They also look great...I have a small face, and getting goggles that fit over my glasses and don't cover 2/3 of my face is a challenge...these are wonderful.
I am a very small person with a very small face so it was a challenge to find a great pair of goggles that were not a child's goggle that fit my face. These do both, stylish yet small enough to fit my small face. I wore them for 11 days straight skiing all over Colorado and they were put through wind that blew so hard I was skiing in white outs to sunny days with no worries.
These are some high quality goggles as you'd expect out of Oakley. The Stockholm is a cute frame for the ladies. While it's technically helmet compatible, in my personal opinion they look funny worn with a helmet. The notch in the top of the frame creates a weird gap. If you're a woman (or a man) with a smaller face and wear a helmet, I suggest the A Frame instead.
H.I. stands for "high intensity" and refers to a coating on the lens that increases contrast and squashes glare, especially in crappy conditions. H.I. lenses have high light transmission and are meant to be worn in low light conditions. Get another lens for bright, sunny days. These are not polarized; you can find that version here: http://www.backcountry.com/oakley-stockholm-goggle-polarized
Happy with the goggles, they are comfortable & the black iridium lenses were good in sunny weather and when it was snowing. I think I have a "normal" sized face - not big, not small, so I think they fitted fine with my one minor complaint being that the peripheral vision wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. My husband's A-frames had better peripheral vision. All in all I was happy with these and can't go past the fantastic prices from BC.
Hi, I bought the 2009 version of these and had to buy the Asian fit version of these goggles from the Oakley site just so I could get goggles best for my facial structure. Asian's don't have a nose bridge so these goggles won't normally fit us. My old goggles had a high nose bridge which would leave a gap above my nose and air would go in fogging up my goggles as a result. THESE ARE AWESOME GOGGLES but if you're asian, buy the asian fit.
considering you have a "small face and small nose" these do come in (believe it or not) an 'asian' version, which is made specifically for asian people because their noses are flatter and smaller than other races. check it out on oakley's website and that would probably be a better fit for your face.
I like the size of these goggles a lot. They aren't too small, but aren't too big on my face. This is my 2nd pair of the Stockholm's, and I've been very happy with them!
First, the fit is great. Typically women specific goggles are too small for my face, but not the case with the Stockholms. Secondly, wanting higher sun protection, I chose the black iridium lenses. The clarity is good as is the contrast. The Oakley website does a killer job explaining and comparing the available lenses.
Just got these bad boys! These are no joke, they will make your steezin ability go from a 4 to a 10 ! Durable, clean fresh look and still hard all at the same time! Thanks oakley!
These goggles are comfortable, fit well, never fog up or get ice build up, keeps my face warm and look good. They do stick out from your face a bit but not over the top and i would say its probably normal. The main drawback is that they arent shaped to fit a helmet meaning that there are gaps in between the helmet and goggles. I have to wear a beanie underneath to stop my forehead and head getting cold.
All in all they are great goggles with minor drawbacks that are easily fixed!
based on your helmet, certain brands design their helmets according to certain brands of googles. For example, RED helmets make their helmets to fit with ANON goggles and they put a disclainer such as this on their product's tag.
Love this! I have a really small face (5'2" adult, skinny) and this fits perfectly! The peripheral vision on this is pretty good. I also wear this on some sunny days (not too sunny though) especially when it tends to shift between sunny/cloudy/rainy in one day. If it's really bright though, I'd recommend you get a different one (I have another one for really bright days). I bought this especially for days when it's cloudy-low light conditions. This has never fogged up so far so I'll still be wearing this this coming season :)
Well since I got these to replace a stolen pair of zeal goggles, which I loved......there has been no bad weather skiing days. I'll have to wait until next season to try them out and see how well they work. I can say that they fit really well, definately good for a womans face. They are pretty nice looking, and they fit easily under my helmet goggle tab.
what are the weather/light conditions for skiing in france? i
what are the weather/light conditions for skiing in france? i haven't been there but have skiied in hokkaido and i couldn't see a thing (no contrast-everything was white). what lenses do you recommend for skiing in france?
It really depends on the weather and the time of day you will be skiing. If it is bright and sunny you will want a lens that blocks out light. If you are skiing at night or in low light conditions you will need one that lets more light in. If you are really worried about the lenses, get a few different ones just to be safe.
These are very nice goggles for women. The size and viewing area is comparable to the a-frame, but these have a much more feminine look. More specifically, the physical size is slightly narrower than the a-frame (due mostly to lack of "helmet hinges" on the strap, but slightly taller as viewed from the front. Performance is what you would expect from Oakley goggles.
There is a noticeable difference, but the main thing you have to consider is the shape of your face. These are definitely for people with smaller noses and a little wider of a face. I would suggest trying them on first locally to ensure a good fit. If you have ever worn Smith goggles, these are comparable to the Smith I/OS model.
Love these goggles - they are a perfect size, not too big but offer plenty of peripheral vision. I am very particular about my goggles as I have had so many pairs that are uncomfortable - but these are awesome! I have the Persimmon lenses which have been excellent in all types of lighting. I can wear them all day without any problems. They are very durable, stylish, and never fog up!
had a real mixed day, snow, wind, crap comin off the blowers, a few tumbles. first time out with these goggles, had a bit of fogging up when I had my bandanna up, but cleared within 30seconds, never had to let them dry out, warm up, wipe. Fit pretty comfortable under my helmet, but a bit uncomfortable strapped on the outside. only cons i'd say would be the buckles on the strap dug into my ears when i had them underneath my helmet (but just raise the strap higher duh) Would I recommend? 100% yes, just for the no fog and great lens
I am new to skiing and unsure what lens color to buy. I ski in
I am new to skiing and unsure what lens color to buy. I ski in WI. I usually ski late afternoons and nights but would like somthing that could be used for days if needed.
I really these goggles - good for my small face, don't fog, fit nicely under my Smith Variant Brim and there is massive choice of lenses.
However, I have found the foam on the top of the goggle has a tendancy to fray and break. Oakley replaced one pair within warranty free of charge, and gave me a discount on that replacement pair when it happened to those as well outside of warranty.
I teach skiing full time, so my both the goggles I got replaced had well over over 100 days of wear before the foam broke. However, you do have to be careful to avoid putting your fingers on the delicate foam at the top. If you can manage that, they're a sweet pair of goggles!
Hi Intensity means that it has an iriduim coating that does three things, increases contrast, makes the lens a little darker, and adds a reflective quality to the outside of the lens
I just bought these goggles in the black frame, pink iridium lenses and i haven't used them yet. I was at the oakley store and tried on the A Frame & the Crowbar and they were huge on my face, since i have a small face size. The Stockholm still stuck out on my face a little bit, but they are comfortable, well padded and well ventilated. The one thing i really liked was the strap can be adjusted easily. I haven't fit the goggles to my hemet.
I think these are really good goggles for the price you get them at; they may be a little more then other lower quality companies, but they are comfortable, easy to wear, fog free as far as im concerned and totally worth buying! hope this helps!
Goggles fit well, but little tight over the nose bridge. Nice ventilation/air flow. Oakley lenses are too expensive though. It's cheaper to buy multiple goggles than to buy 1 pair and replacement lenses.
I want to get a pair plus a replacement lense so I'm covered
I want to get a pair plus a replacement lense so I'm covered for bright and low light, what are the best lenses to go with? I like the G30 but the seem like the are best for mid conditions, I don't want to overlap too much since the are expensive. So, opinions? What are the fav's?
Blue iridium will cover you for every light condition, unless you have particularly sensitive eyes. Otherwise, I use black iridium for bright days and HI yellow for the really dark days.
The HI Yellow is the perfect lens for low light conditions, form night to overcast to white out. The VR 50 Gold Iridium would be good for the brighter days.
For the men the Crowbar, for the women the Stockholm. This is one of the best goggles on the market for female snowriders. The fit, the build quality, the(above average) lens change system, the price(when they are on sale !). All these things are in the Stockholms favour. My wife has had hers for 2 seasons and they are a permanent fixture in her kit locker. The only problem is Oakley will have the devils own job to significantly improve upon them. Highly recommended.
It keeps the air from drying out my contact lenses. I always have trouble on snowy/ windy days but with stockholms it makes it easier for me to ride through the trail non-stop. It keeps my face warm on neg. degrees weather. Great goggles for all weather purposes.
This comes down to personal preference for most. I prefer a rose lens for all around though.Honestly, grab any pair off of SAC, tramdock, or WM...You can get "general" gogs for as little as $10!You won't find oakleys quite that cheap on whiskey, steepandcheap, and tramdock, but you will find some amazing deals. Like stated above, it's really personal preference. But if it helps, I like using the Persimmon lenses for an all around choice. And they run pretty cheap compared to some of the other ones you can buy from Oakley.
i have the smallest, narrowest face and the only thing that ever looks good is in youth sizes. I havn't used these goggles yet, but they look awesome. I wouldn't recommend the persimmon lense cuz it kills the look of the whole goggle. i ordered the G30 lense and the extra $ was workth it.i noticed it stuck out a little far on my face but it still looked fine.i'll write more when i try em on the slopes.
Oakley's women's Stockholm goggles are extremely comfortable and have come in handy during many snowy conditions. I have worn these goggles during sunny conditions and blizzard conditions. They did not fog up and they remained comfortable for an entire day of riding. The fit should work well for any woman. I highly reccommend these goggles!
They will fit, but I would get some of those clear sheets to peel off the lens after each ride so the lenses do not get all scratched up from dust/rocks/wiping. Also these have kind of a large vent on them which you may not want while mx due to dust getting in.
I initially bought these at REI for full price and then returned them because I found them at outdoor.com for almost half price. I love these goggles. They fit beautifully, don't fog up, and look great. I've always loved Oakley products and would highly recommend these to anyone.
I have only been snowboarding once ... in my life. So I wouldn't say I know a lot about gear, but these goggles were great. They fit well and never fogged up on me. They were comfortable and stayed in place. Hopefully they will get lots of use in years to come.
Love the Oakley fit... I'm asian and a very small frame at that... Any other goggles look like i stepped out of Jupiter. Love the pink color it's very feminine ^^ It's easy to clean up. No fogging. Only thing i don't like is that the clip gets caught in my wonderful tresses. But overall it's an awesome buy! I <3 my Oakley!
looks great, fits great on small faces, clip on back is great for putting them on easy, black iriduim looks great with minimal transparency, these goggles are...whats the word im looking for...
I bought the Khaki elevation frame with the G30 lens and I couldn't be happier. Changing the lens is super easy, as long as you start from the top. Super comfy, super cute and looks good with a big toque or a helmet (i have a smith Holt and there is no gap on the forehead :) )
So with back iridium lens these are really only for extremely bright conds. When it was gray or flat light, I wished I have bought a high contrast polarized pair instead for the extra bucks.
I love these goggles. I have the black iridium for day - loved them last spring, didn't want to take them off, even for my Maui Jim's! Got the persimmon for Christmas for night skiing. Very very comfortable! Great quality!
These are great goggles. As always, nice lenses. They fit well and are very easy to adjust. The style is nice too. They aren't as large as a lot of goggles these days and they're a bit squared off which is a nice touch. Backcountry.com carries replacement lenses too which is a plus. I'm really happy with these goggles!
