Oakley Plateau Softshell Jacket - Men's - 2009

Oakley Plateau Softshell Jacket - Men's - 2009 BCS

Item # OAK2212

Don’t call the Oakley Men’s Plateau Softshell Jacket a hoody—it would take that as a lack of respect for its waterproof breathable exterior. You don’t want the Plateau to think you’re disrespecting it; the last guy who didn’t respect the sheltering powers of its fixed hood and full zip closure ended up in a long black bag. Long black bags don’t have venting like the underarm zips on this regular-fit snow jacket. Just enjoy the durable finish and drawcord hem, and shred your face off wearing this mid-layer that performs like an outer-layer.

Bottom Line:

The Plateau exists on a higher level than your cotton hoody.

Best Jacket I Own

I tend to always be hot wile snowboarding. I have numerous jackets ranging from down, to synthetic, light to heavy jackets. I bought this Oakley Plateau hoping for a jacket that could keep me warm on cold days, yet a jacket that I can wear in hot spring days. This has proven to be the perfect jacket for it all. I bought it 1 sizes bigger than I would wear a normal jacket partly because I like baggier clothing when snowboarding, but also so I can layer up underneath it on cold days. Turns out that 1 size up was perfect. I can wear the jacket any where any time and feel comfortable. It is a perfect fit. I wore it on a cold day expecting it to be hot, and was warm all day. The pit zips open up completely with no mesh guard, so it is perfect for warm spring days as well. The material is strong and tough, it keeps out the cold and wet, yet it breathes and doesn't keep you sweatin all day long. This is pretty much the perfect all around snowboard/ski/around town jacket.
