Norrøna Falketind Warm 1 Fleece Jacket - Women's - 2011 BCS
Norr??na designed the Women's Falketind Warm 1 Fleece Jacket using their Warm1, which is ultralight fabric from recycled Polartec material to block the cold. Wear it on cool fall days or layer it under a shell when things get really cold. Polartec Power Stretch panels help increase your range of motion so you can reach for high hand-holds, and the pockets sit high on your hips so they won't get stuck under your harness.

Really like norrøna product. Here in norway its really expensive, so when i found it here i have to purchase it. The fit me perfect. Its warm. Have used it by the river fisching late summer nights. And it keeps me warm! :)
I am planning on purchasing this fleece, love the purple rain
I am planning on purchasing this fleece, love the purple rain color, but unfortunately size small is unavailable (except in black and the extraordinarily bright blue), which prompted me to ensure I would be ordering the appropriate size. I am 5'4" and 125 lbs and typically where size small. How does this fleece tend to run? If anyone has the blue color, is it at obnoxious as it looks? Thanks!

I don't know about this fleece in particular but my buddy ordered a Norrona rain jacket and I seem to remember it running a bit small.
Hope this helps :D

Nice, but has a slight functional problem
August 4, 2011
Just got the jacket. Like it overall, but there is a small functional problem. First the positives. It is indeed made of Thermal Pro, which is a highly efficient fleece, in terms of warmth to weight ratio. At only 8.5 oz, I was planning to use it year round for backpacking and skiing. It's really fashionable, enough for daily use, the blue color is very bright, and the sewn-on Norrona and Falketind logos are bright green. Given the warmth and loft of the fleece, it'll certainly be enough for 3 season outerwear, and layering for skiing. The wrist looks a bit different from the picture here, most notably there are thumb holes, and they are low bulk and work well.
Now on to the functional issue. I know the Falketind line is designed for lightweight mountaineering, so the side pockets are placed high to make it easy for use with harness. However, the top of the pockets really interferes with the female anatomy, making it rather bulky if you know what I mean - and I'm pretty skinny. The key is you cannot wear an underwire bra - but hey when you are out there in the wild, you probably won't anyway.
Does this jacket really have Thermal Pro in it? It's not
Does this jacket really have Thermal Pro in it? It's not mentioned in the description, but listed as part of the material. I checked Norrona website, same thing. Warm 1 is supposed to be a lightweight fleece, it's hard to believe it's got Thermal Pro in it, which is very warm. Anyone know?

Ordered for the Mrs. here is her review: Awesome jacket!!!! I ordered an xs and am 5'7 125 pounds and if fits perfect. Excellent base layer or light jacket for cool summer nights. The thumb holes are nice however the jacket is made in China-just FYI. The jacket is super soft and the collar is nice for additional warmth without being annoying. I would highly recommend this jacket even for those who aren't completely outdoorsy-the jacket is very stylish and has a wonderful hour glass cut to it.
