Nomis Connected Rocker Snowboard - 2010

Nomis Connected Rocker Snowboard - 2010 BCS

Item # NOM0721

Thanks to its mellow flex and twin rocker shape, the Nomis Connected Snowboard hooks up a catch-free, press-friendly ride that's sure to stoke out park rats who don't want to ride the same board as everyone else. The reverse-camber shape lifts your contact points off the snow to help you ride away from under-rotated landings without catching an edge, and lock in proper presses with no tapping.

  • Custom Jib Tune all but eliminates hangups on rails, boxes, trees, and ledges
  • Extruded 1320 base is easy to repair and can take tons of abuse
  • Bi-axial fiberglass layout delivers a soft, forgiving flex
  • 3-layer interior rubber dampening reduces chatter and vibrations at high speed

Board size really depends on weight but if you have a fairly average build for your height than the 144 would be great.

Would it be unwise to use this board for other stuff besides jibb? Because I want a board that I will be able to do presses but still use the same board for jumps.

Presses should be pretty easy on this board. it is soft and is a 3 out of 10 on the Nomis scale. The rocker will also allow you to rock the pow.

The difference between twin and directional twin. Twin boards are 100% symmetrical, The stance is centered, the flex is even, and the sidecut is radial. Directional twins have twin tips, sometimes a centered stance, but the flex is directional and/or the sidecut is progressive. Twins are found on most freestyle boards, as directional twins on most all-mountain boards.

are the smaller sizes such as the 144 just as good of quality

are the smaller sizes such as the 144 just as good of quality as the bigger sizes? because i found that smaller boards are considered kids boards and are not as good quality.

This board has the same quality across the sizes. Unless it is a child's specific model all the sizes in the run will be constructed with the same quality.

Is it true that for rocker board you should reduce length a bit from a regular camber board?
Can't decide between 144 & 147
(I've been riding a 148 cm '08 forum spinster and I'm 5'2", 125 lbs.)

They Say With Rockers You Can Go About 5cm Smaller Than You Normally Ride Without Feeling Much Of A Difference So Both Sizes In Theory Should Be Ok For You

So i'm about 5'7" 135 lbs.. bought this board in a 147 along with the matching bindings, (gotta sweet deal on whiskey militia), just wondering if it's the right board for me. I rode a salomon ace 153 (07/08 i think) these past couple of years, so this board is a change. I've boarded for a while but never really got serious til this past year where i kicked it up a notch or two in the park. so i do quite a bit of park riding now but still like to hit kickers, back country, and just ride the whole mountain. wondering if i should stick with this or possibly sell and go with a different board?

What are the matching bindings to this board? I've been looking around for them but can't seem to come across them.

[We have similar stats, 5'7" 145lbs]

You could definitely stick with that board for park riding, but you will be sacrificing overall stability when riding the whole mountain. I ride both a 148 and 152. The 148 is a lot of fun in the park because I can just throw it around, but when it comes time to bombing the slopes, it certainly doesn't have the same control and stability that my 152 has.

If you can afford to keep that and get another board I say keep it, but if you're on a budget, I would get a 151. That size should suit you fine in both areas of your riding.

Joe,

You still should be all good, just remember.. the reverse camber will also make your carves/turns more skatey/surfey and you just need to be mindful of that. The jib tune isn't gnarly, just enough so you don't get hung up on any rails/boxes.
Thanks dude!

Pretty soft. 3/10 so not a total noodle but softer than a mid-flex and certainly softer than a stiffer board like a burton custom x.
