Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Zip T - Long-Sleeve - Men's - 2007 BCS
The Mountain Hardwear Men's Power Stretch Zip Tee is the ideal base or mid-layer piece for alpine climbers and mountaineers. Designed to be layered, this shirt ensures that your mobility remains fully intact. The smooth face of the Power Stretch slides easily underneath your softshell, so you won't get caught up as you reach the crux of your climb. Once you've been out in the hills for a few days, flip the Power Stretch inside-out for extra insulation as well as to air out the moisture-wicking side. The 3in collar and 12in front zip provide protection from wind and snow or let you vent when the sun shines.

THE standard for a medium wieght layering piece. Strechy and durable - I've had the same top in the system for years now!
I'd Wear It In the Summer If I Could

The MH power-stretch zip tee is one of my favorite pieces. It's so freakin' comfortable, soft, and stretchy that I've worn it when it was too warm. It's like crack, sweet, comfortable, soft, warming, stretchy crack. I feel a little silly wearin' it solo because of it's sportiness, but I'm getting over it real quick. It's really warm and light. Get one, you'll love yourself for it.
Does this have a zip guard at the neck? Ya know so my furry chin
Does this have a zip guard at the neck? Ya know so my furry chin doesn't get snagged by the zipper , or my giant apple size adams apple doesn't get choked..

No zipper pocket.. I'm also pretty furry and understand your concern. The fit around the neck is snug but the fabric is super stretchy.

great warmth for the weight

I put this garment in my daypack and have it there every time I go to the mountains. It is compact, light and warm. Just right for the times that it gets cold and I'm a long way from the car.
Super warm, super soft

I use this for everything. It has never done me wrong. the zip goes down quite a ways so you can put it on with ease. The material on the outside is super tough and snug. I am 5"9 and I love the medium, it will fit really snug around the forearms and shoulders. Skiing, mountaineering, whatever, I have used this for 6 years and it does great for that all around heavy layer.

Great shirt. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because it didnt have a pocket. Minor issue. Warm as heck. Eliminates wearing too many layers under a jacket. Can easily be worn on chilly spring/fall days as well. I'll get a lot of use out of it.
Probably the most comfortable piece of clothing I own

Versatile. Reversible. Slim fitting. Good as stand-alone pullover on brisk days, or as a great midweight layer on cold days. Take it everywhere; use it for everything (except the blazing heat of southern Utah summers, of course).

Very versatile piece. Wore it alone on a hike with temps starting out at 45 degrees. As the day began to warm, the Zip Tee breathed very well and I never overheated. Highly recommended!
Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Zip Tee Long-Sleeve - Men's
December 15, 2006
I think this item is at or below average. Its power stretch, its good fabric and fit, but the zipper keeps coming down. It won't stay zipped. And $75 for basic power stretch top is a high.
Expect the best

This was my second Power Stretch long-sleeve top from Mountain Hardwear because my girlfriend stole the first. This is by far the most versatile piece I own. I love it!
Most important clothes item you need.

The Power Stretch Zip Tee Long-Sleeve is the one item of clothing I use Fall through Spring in the Appalachians. I use it as a base or mid layer for backpacking in colder temperatures, alone on chilly mornings or evenings and for long trail runs in the winter. I bought another one so I would always have one available. I bought one for my brother who is a Geologist and does a lot of field work around the world. He never leaves without it.
The Best Dang BaseLayer Ever!!!

This is a must have. It is the most comfortable piece of equipment that I own. Its very warm, very stylin', very comfy. I wear it around town as much as I do in the mountains.
Powerstretch Zip Tee
February 9, 2006
The PowerStretch Zip Tee is an ideal top. Its lightweight, yet surprisingly warm. The inner portion is soft, the outer portion is smooth which allows freedom of movement when worn under a shell or insulating layer. I wear a silkweight underneath the PowerStretch, the former providing wicking superiority. The quality is superior which is typical of Mountain Hardwear.
Not as advertised. Wrong picture!

This is a great piece of clothing! Very warm but breathes and is so ventable(deep zipper) that it can be worn on warmer days without too much discomfort. The picture on this website is not accurate. The shirt comes with the "nut" logo on both the inner and outer collar and there is no "mountain hardwear" logo label.
