Mmmm, softshell

I didn't really need another jacket and, in my naivete, I somehow thought of this as a "winter coat," which it isn't. I was a little disappointed in its light weight (doesn't feel like nearly two pounds to me) but as soon as I put it on I knew wild horses couldn't take it away from me. It's r-e-a-l-l-y soft and supple. It's very close fitting. I'm 5-10 and 140 or less and I have trouble finding many garments that really fit (I wear a Small but most are too big). I'm pretty good with many MH things, and this is one of the tighter fitting. It's a bit tough to get much of a midlayer under it, especially in the armpit area, so it's best used with light layers if you're active or in fairly mild weather if you're not. The hood is rather big but can be cinched nicely to fit even a smallish melon. It's got a little visor on it. The jacket hits around the waist. The forearms are narrow. This is one seductive softshell and put to the right uses, it will perform well, too. It's mighty attractive at the SAC price.
