Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Women's

Item # MHW1668

Torrential rain and howling wind on your backpacking trip may make for epic storytelling afterward, but first you have to get through it; the Mountain Hardwear Women\222s Epic Jacket will keep you dry until the tempest passes. This lightweight, supple rain shell features a waterproof breathable Conduit laminate that seals out moisture while allowing water vapor to escape.

  • Attached, rollaway hood features an extra-beefy brim to protect you from the elements
  • Pit zips and mesh-lined front pockets let you dump heat on long climbs
  • Adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs and dual hem drawcords help seal out rain
  • Micro-Chamois-lined chin guard protects against zipper chafe

Bottom Line:

The stuff of great adventure yarns.

Size medium epic

I bought this jacket ant paired it with the epic pants. The pants don't leak, but the jacket doesn't hold up to any real soaking. The shoulder area leaks badly. It's a nice looking jacket, but not practical for northwest rain storms.

Love it!

Love this jacket, lightweight and breathable. Got a M so I have room for a sweater underneath for when it gets cold. I also love the green color! I have had no problems with it so far!

What should I do if I'm between sizes? Size up or down? I have a waist that's about an inch and a half larger than the medium and hips that are not quite as wide as would need a large...advice please...

If on the edge, UP! Mountain Hardwear women's stuff is much sleeker fit than most outdoor brands. Usually, plenty of room through the shoulders and upper back but tapers quite slim to the waist. 5'5", 112 lbs, 32B -- usually buy XS in MH. To layer more than a mid weight fleece and down sweater vest, probably a S.

Hey there, depending on what you are going to do; running, etc... I like to have a little room for layering, holiday weight gain, etc...

I wish I would have been able to see the jacket before buying.

I love the jacket, but I ordered a small and I should have ordered a medium. Also, the zipper that should be on the arm is missing... I'm not quite sure what happened there.

jorgee. Seafrost is a light pastel-ly green and Espresso is a medium/dark brown. Cheers!

Good for rain, but not as everyday jacket

High quality and good slim fit. If all you want is a compact rain jacket that packs small it is a very nice jacket. However material is noisy (probably like most rain jackets) if that bothers you and too thin for colder fall/spring weather.
