These climbing shoes feature Montrail's stickiest rubber for superb grip on the rock face and thermo-moldable foam for an excellent fit. The Wasabi's Gryptonite soles combine extremely high friction with an appropriate amount of hardness so that these shoes not only stick to that rock wall with ease, they also hold up to use and abuse. Place these shoes in a conventional oven to warm the thermo-moldable foam. Then wear them so the foam molds to your foot's contours for an unbeatable fit—you'll get more power, feel for the rock, and better pressure distribution than you get from the average climbing shoe. (These shoes will eventually mold to your feet even if you don't heat them.) The broad toe with a chiseled profile helps you wedge into thin cracks.

I got these shoes from S&C for the great deal and the reviews, in order of the reviews then the deal. I climb in them for a few months. They fit great and are super comfortable. I simply loved them. One thing I began to notice is I slipped constantly. I thought it was because I was not the Chris Sharma of rock climbing. I would slip off of what seemed to me an excellent toe or smear placement. I decided my wife needed my old shoes and I needed to try some new ones when a sweet pair of mad rocks kazamed as a deal. The rubber on the madrocks made a huge difference. I could actually climb a few grades higher simple because my foot was sticking to the rock better than ever. I would not buy the Montrail because the rubber is not soft enough to grip the rock.
