Mavic Helium Cycling Vest - Men's

The Mavic Men’s Helium Cycling Vest stuffs in your saddle bag during the ride up and comes out to warm you up on long, cold descents. A full-length zipper lets you vent if you need something in-between, and the Dura Lite SL fabric even holds off a bit of rain if the weather turns nasty. Mavic included a rear zip pocket to hold a few energy gels or maybe a road map.

Great looking, too small

The vest looks terrific and is made of very nice material - incredibly light and appears to have great wind-blocking capabilities. However, it is sized WAY too small - I'm an average guy (5'10", 175#) and usually wear a medium shirt. I order cycling stuff in large (it's sized for all the racers so you can't expect it to fit regular folks the same way) and this vest was really, really tight in large. I need an XL and I've never bought anything in that size.

In short, order s MUCH bigger size than you normally would.

Mavic sizing is typical Euro really. Castelli/Santini normal. This helium fabric is whisper lite.

Got to wear my new vest yesterday and it was great. I didn't know that I was wearing it. Light and aero. I had been looking at this vest for a while but couldn't justify the cost. When I saw it for sale at Real Cyclist I thought it was time to bite the bullet. Well worth it. Fits easily into my rear pocket but at a moments notice a great wind resistant shell. No zipper in my neck and great styling. My freinds were jeoulous. 5 Stars.

Just to add-Sizing on this is Japan Large and international medium. What Backcountry has listed as a large is pretty spot on, with a 30" center back length. Also, material is 100%Nylon in the body and 100% Polyester for the lining.

Expensive Light Stuff - ELS

I give it 5-Stars for the Function and Purpose of wind-proof and easy of packability; however, I give it 1-Star for aerodynamics. I could hardly feel it when I was wearing it as it is extremely light weight and virtually wind-proof. The biggest downfall it has it the excess flapping garbage bag sound coming from the material behind your head. The vest creeps up and the loose material flaps in the wind that eventually wore down my tolerance that I determined it was a very expensive Hefty bag. I ended up having to tuck the bottom of the vest under my jersey to minimize the sound which I had to redo periodically.

I purchased the Large, which is the smallest I could get, as the Medium, I could not zip up. Please think seriously before buying this product. I didn't give it a 1-Star because it does work as which it was designed so it doesn't out right suck. I just would like not to recommend it due to the excess noise it creates.
