I love Marmot, however this Marmot Destination "raincoat" is just that. The hood feature was very nicely constucted with two loops on either side to reach up and pull tight around your face. The coat is made from a thin windbreaker type fabric, it zips up the front and has heavy duty snaps on the wind flap, as I unsnapped the snaps to try it on it felt like it was going to rip the fabric and I had serious doubts about durability. It has a thin poly lining. It is nicely constructed, but when it rains it gets cold and this coat offers absolutly no warmth at all. it fit perfectly in the shoulders but I didn't think I could get anything underneath it when just having a warm water resistant coat would be better. It was big in the hips too. The pockets are useless, you have to unsnap the flaps then unzip the pockets to stick your hands in therefore disturbing the one design element this garment has! A better design would have placed the zippers just above the pocket flaps. It was also about 2" above the knee, so not much protection. I am 5'5" 36-29-37 128lbs.

How is the sizing of this jacket? I am 5'7 and 135lbs. I don't like it when jackets are too big and I wonder if I should get it in XS or S?

There is a sizing chart below the price. They are usually pretty accurate.

I ordered this jacket in XS - I'm 4'11" 100lbs. I would've loved to keep it but was too big for me. I also ordered the Highland XS and it fit perfect so I kept this one. Even though they're both Marmot, sizing was very different. The Destination is lined and is warmer with a lot of nice details. It's a perfect all around rain jacket. This jacket would be equivalent to the Highland S.
Just What I Was Looking For

I purchased the Destination raincoat in navy and liked it so much I am ordering another one in black. I walk to work every day in rainy Portland Oregon and need a waterproof rain coat that goes to my knees. The length of this one is great. The hood is deep and shelters my face. It is very good looking and well constructed. I love the soft fleece at the neck. The zipper really works well. There is no velcro to snag on. This is an all season coat, so I wear a fleece jacket under it in really cold weather and a shawl around my shoulders and neck most of the time. In spring and summer, I won't wear anything under it. I highly recommend this coat. It is pricey, but worth the price
