Louis Garneau Power Compression Legging

Item # LGN0101

Here at RealCyclist, we have a couple of former messengers who still depend on the Louis Garneau Power Leg Warmers to get them through some of the most frigid work days, even though these days it\222s just for the commute. The ergonomic fit and elastic leg grippers keep the Power Leg Warmers so snug you could mistake them for compression socks, and reflective logos keep motorists from seeing more than just your middle finger. SPF/UPF 50 makes them a poor choice for the tanning bed, but the warmth could rival a thousand lightbulbs. Flatlock seams keep razor-burn irritation to a minimum so you won\222t show up to an alleycat looking like you have chicken pox.

Bottom Line:

There\222s a reason they\222re nicknamed 'Moneymakers.'

Poor Stitching

By:
October 22, 2012

I liked these at first, they fitted well and I used them the first time on a century ride where the starting temp was 35 deg F. My legs were warm and the warmers didn't need much adjustment in 6 hours of riding. But after the second wash the stitching started coming undone. By this time I thought it too late to return them so I repaired one hole between panels and restitched another area. I wore them again recently and found more stitching coming away. The are probably done for. Pity, I have LG arm warmers that have been worn and washed lost of times in over a year with no issues.

Hey gib4189217,

Thanks for your question. I checked around a bit and found a sizing breakdown for the Louis Garneau Power Compression Legging:

Size Length Ankle Thigh
S 21" 6.5" 13"
M 22" 7" 14"
L 22.5" 7.5" 14.5"
XL 22.5" 8" 15.5"

Keep in mind that your thigh will be 5-6 inches larger than the garment measurement as the measurements listed are for the un-stretched garment.

Really nice.

I wore them for the first time in 40 degree temperature this morning and they kept my legs warm and never slipped down. I like that they reach all the way to my ankle and with winter socks I didn't have exposed skin.

I am short but need large legs. Will an XL be too long?

Pat. Compression should fit tightly. And it is that tight compressing fit that is most important. I would go with waist fit first. If you are still concerned, I have seen a pair or two cut to fit by the owner without any fraying of the fabric after several uses/washings.

Btw, I dont know your exact measurements so I can't really help on a specific size. I hope this helps.

I can't compare these to any other compression leggings, because they're the first I've tried. But I can certainly compare them to not wearing compression leggings, and these feel great!

Though they looked awfully small, the fit was actually great, but the small end was very tight going over my ankle. Hope I don't break the stitching pulling them on & off. Looking forward to wearing them during and/or after 100 miles next Sunday.
