Louis Garneau Corsa Bib Shorts - 2011 BCS
The Corsa Bib Shorts are the creme de la creme of bib shorts from Garneau. And even though they donít cost as much as many of our other pro-level bibs, we believe these bib shorts to be competitive with almost any pair of bibs we sell, theyíre that good.
At the heart of the Corsa Bibs is Louis Garneauís 4 Motion chamois. Its woven polyester construction offers a high degree of stretch -- in four directions as they note -- which ultimately helps the pad mold to your contours and move with you, increasing your comfort. Mesh vents and channel vents help to move moisture away from your body to keep your skin dry and chafe-free. Multi-thickness, high density foam places more padding where you need it most and reduces it in the areas where it isnít as necessary. All this work makes the chamois fit naturally, as if it's not even there. However, the comfort level after a few hours in the saddle tells you otherwise.
The Corsa Bib Shorts offer the greatest degree of compression of all of Louis Garneauís shorts. Lycra Power is used in many locations through the eight-panel design. Panels made from Speedtech improve wicking due to the lightweight weave and yet offer incredible sun protection, with an SPF of 50. Carbon-X Mesh and Lazer Rev aid in compression and fabric resilience to make the bibs provide excellent compression and a long life; truly, these bibs are so light in feel that the support they offer is surprising.
The bibs feature a rear pocket for riders who wish to ride with anMP3 player so you donít have to devote a jersey pocket to your electronics. Rather than gripper elastic at the leg cuffs, the shorts are finished with compression bands that give them a longish 11.25" inseam. All seams are flatlocked to give the inside of the shorts the smoothest possible feel against the skin.
The Louis Garneau Corsa Bib Shorts are available in Black, Black/Blue, and White/red and come in five sizes from Small through XX-Large.
- 8-Panel ergonomic fit for exceptional comfort and elimination of bunching
- No seams inside the legs to avoid chafing
- 4Motion perforated-foam chamois manages moisture while maintaining shape and removing pressure from the urethra
- Compression fit for added muscle support

I've been an on/off fan of bib shorts, but I've loved nearly every LG product I've tried since I've been cycling. These are awesome! I wore them for the first time on a ~70 mile ride and they worked great. Have worn them a few other times since, and they are really great for my longer rides.
Got a L and they were a little big the first time, but did shrink a bit and fit fine now.

I love the 4motion Chamois...it's considerably better than the Air Gel!

Okay, I'm giving it a 4/5 star review because I can judge by the finish that it's a good short, and I've had other bibs from LG that work very nicely. However, this particular pair of shorts has a pretty narrow Leg band. I'm 5'10" and I have some honkin' legs. I'm talking 26" tree trunk legs. I have two other bibs from LG (Neo Power Bib and Equipe Bib) and L works, though tightly. This particular bib cannot even make it past my Vastus Medialis (that's the tear drop muscle above the knee) in size L, therefore making it impossible for the chamois to snug up right for the fit. I exchanged for the XL and it also had the same issue. If you have real big legs (track cyclists style) then you might want to reconsider before even having these shipped to your door. If you've never had fitment issues with bicycle gear, then go ahead and get these. They're pretty darn nice.

This is one kick ass bib short! The chamois is definitely the best I've ever sat on to date. At first I was skeptical about spending so much on a bib short, when normally $175 would be my limit. But I said the hell with it and went for it. And I'm glad I did. They are on the snug side but that's how they are supposed to be. They are compressive fitting. The shoulder straps are very well fitting, so there's no more getting annoyed at loose shoulders straps here. And if you do get this bib you have to get the matching jersey. Sure it's an investment but you've never felt like such a champ rocking this kit. It's also the fastest drying kit I've ever owned. And I mean sweat here, not water!

I just got these. I don't know about from behind in the bright sun but in my house, I can definitely see through the front. These shorts stretch a lot which thins out the fabric. If I was to put my hand down the front of the shorts (for example), you can definitely (in low, interior light) see clearly the outline of all my fingers. Now use your imagination!
Maybe the rear isn't a problem, and if your jersey is long enough in front, it isn't a problem, but I just don't know.

Not at all. Have these myself. But the red part however, gets lighter when you put it on and the material stretches. So the vivid red becomes somewhat pale-ish. Also for what it may be worth, these run true to size but some who don't know what they're buying might say they run small. They are "compression fit" first of all and these are meant to fit like a second skin to be as aerodynamic as possible. You will feel like a pro wearing these with their matching jersey.

Louis Garneau Corsa Bib Short

Basically, if you find a pair of knicks and they are made by Louis Garneau, they are awesome. I can't really add anything else. These are a great pair of knicks for training, and the bibs feel great around your shoulders too. Very nice chamois.
