This skirt is lightweight and short, yes. But it's absolutely perfect to wear over leggings or thick tights - which I love. I think it would also work great over a swimsuit and would be really easy to pack. The organic cotton is very nice, and actually thicker than I expected. The wide waistband is comfy and flattering. With wide hips, pleats are often not my friend, but Lole seems to have gotten them right! The pockets are also really nice. Typical Lole quality as well (excellent). It's true to size. I am almost always a Medium. I ordered a Large because it's on sale, unfortunately its too big so I'm returning, but I like it so much I'm going to order a Medium at full price.

The Lole Cayman skirt is a nice item if you are in Rio or some other exotic beach location, where less is more. In other words the skirt was way too short for her taste and returned it.
