Litespeed L1/Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 Complete Bike - 2012 - 2012 BCS

Item # LTS0050

Inspired by the wild success of the R-series of bikes from Cervelo, Litespeed completely re-wrote their design process in the creation of their new flagship L-series. The L-series bikes supercede Litespeed's previous aerodynamically-oriented C-series, but are still designed to be nimble and aerodynamic, and produce a superlative ride quality.

The L1 Dura Ace Build is the prince of that series; however its second-in-command presence belies a phenomenally well-rounded, one-quiver bike. Constructed from a robust 30-ton weave of carbon fiber, the L1 starts with an oversized head tube to keep the front of the bike stiff and confident while cornering and on descents. Tube shapes are also radically varied depending on their function. The flatter, linear tube shapes from the front of the bike shift dramatically to oversized and asymmetrical rectangular tubes at the seat tube and bottom bracket junctures, all of which are designed to optimize the bike's exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio.

Litespeed went with a new, slightly wider BB386 bottom bracket standard (also used by European marques Wilier and BH), a platform best suited to pure climbing machines. And equipped with Shimano's pro-caliber mechanical Dura Ace groupset, the Litespeed L1 fires an emphatic shot across the bow of every calendar race and 'fondo from April to October.

The Litespeed L1/Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 Complete bike is available in Black/blue, and in sizes from Small to X-Large

  • Fulcrum Racing 3 wheels are as dependable a training partner as they are a lightweight, race-ready pacemaker
  • Zipp Service Course SL cockpit further preserves the lightweight, aerodynamic aesthetic of the frame
  • Campagnolo-style Zero Stack headset system helps preserve a comfortable, yet race-ready geometry without the use of spacers
  • Comfortable and supportive fi'zi:k Arione saddle is a favorite in the pro peloton for good reason
  • Litespeed uses proportional, size-specific tubes based on each bike's size to ensure a Small rides just as well as an Extra-Large

Bottom Line:

Every race, every ride, every weekend.

Any complaints about this bike? Anything you'd change? I've heard people having issues removing the rear wheel, but haven't been able to see on in person to understand what this is.
Thanks!
