Kelty Corrie Tent 1 Person 3 Season

I was pleased with the Corrie 1 on a recent backpacking trip in the Elkhorns in eastern Oregon. An outstanding forecast allowed me to leave the rainfly behind making packed weight of the tent about 3 lbs. The tent rolled smaller than my REI lite-core sleeping pad. I am about 6’ 2” and fit comfortably inside. Setup was easy and there is plenty of ventilation to let the breeze through. At this point, the only drawback was the front entry, which required me to either go in feet first or crawl in and turn around. Honestly, almost any tent would have performed well in the conditions I camped in and the real test will be in less favorable weather. I scored this for $99 on Steep and Cheap, and I have a feeling it was a good purchase.

As of right now, I will go with the pretty cool four stars vote. So, I was cruising around on steep and cheap and came across this tent for $99 smackers. Being I was sorta looking for a solo tent and saw that this tent originally retails for 289.00 I decided to do some research. For whatever reason their really isn't that much customer feedback on this tent, probably because it fits in between niches. In 2009 the Corrie 1 won a gear of the year award by backpacker, and I agree with allot of what that review says.

For being a bigger one person tent you get the advantage of space, allowing your pack to stay in side the tent with you. Carrying an extra few ounces that allows you to have more space really comes in handy when your in bad weather, or are on longer trips . Being that the vestibule is large, cooking in bad weather will be allot more pleasant as well. Setting up the corrie is pretty easy. The packed size is about 3.5", 19". This tent also has allot of tie downs.

For some of the negatives, the pack weight is 4lb which is on the heavy side for and ultra light. The two small screens on the sides in my opinion should not be their. The poles are super light weight, but are awkward to pack do to being curved, and they are also all attached.

So all in all, though this tent weighs a little more you can find this tent on sale and wind up saving around $200 compared to other tents. I hoped this review helps.
