Really comfortable

By:

I just pitched out my first pair of these after 800 miles (plastic heel counter began to break through the padding). That was all road running, as that's what is available to me. They worked fine for that, even though they're supposedly a trail shoe. I really like the fit. I got my usual running-shoe size and they are to size, although perhaps about 1/4-size too small. Once when I wore two pairs of socks in 13-degree weather the extra amount was enough to cause pressure and a black toenail. I've got two more pairs of these ready to go. Asymmetrical lacing is an interesting idea and posed no problems. As far as minimalism goes, I find it roomy enough (unlike some other reviewers), it's lightweight, and there doesn't feel like much heel-toe differential, although I haven't been able to find specifications for that; it does have too much padding for good ground feel. I'd call it semi-minimalist.

Keen

Not the typical Keen fit- much too narrow for both my feet and my husbands too. We each bought a pair, hoping to wear them on our backpacking trip. Nice weight, but poor fit for people that usually wear Keens.

Shoes after 1 month (300+ miles)

By:
August 18, 2011

This is what my shoes looked like after wearing them daily for a month. Do not take these trail running. They are not very durable. They do have an excellent fit and great snug lacing system if you have a low volume foot. Great for walking/running around town.

typical minimalist shoe

By:

if you are a minimalist runner, used to say the 5 fingers, these a great scree/cold weather, occasional pavement option. you will want to run as if you are barefoot. they are as durable as any other minimalist shoe. if you want durability, get an over-built shoe. i wouldn't call them narrow... more low-volume. great for the $ on SAC.

Fit narrow feet well

By:
August 31, 2011

I have fairly narrow feet and these fit my feet really well. They are very comfortable shoes. I was given the shoes, but I don't really go in for the minimalist thing. It's like wearing running slippers. They are that comfortable, but I like more support when I run. The tread is good for off road, but as another reviewer mentioned, they're not too durable.
