Comfy and true to size

I've had to return several other size 8 backpacking boots because they just weren't genuine size 8 boots. But these beauties fit perfectly right out of the box. Yes, they are heavy but they ARE backpacking boots with a stiff Vibram sole, providing both ankle and arch support. These are perfect for alpine hiking in cooler temperatures. (But then again, it's always "cooler" in alpine terrain!)

These are warm boots and perhaps too warm for desert or city hikes in the summer, but I plan on taking these boots in the High Sierras later this season. The e-vent material around the laces do seem to allow some hot air out, but my socks were still very moist at the end of my trial hike. My feet felt no rubbing.

The price is perfect. Expect to shell out close to $200 at other websites.
