This is one good lookin' tank, in my opinion. It has a shelf bra, if you wonder after reading the description, but I would not consider it an athletic shirt by any means. The fit is true to size, flattering, and long enough to gather softly around the hip-bones, even on those of us with a long torso. The scoop neck is on the low side, but frames the face nicely, and the back comes up high enough to be demurely modest. I am quite small on the top; while I think someone more amply endowed would fill out the shirt better, I am not sure that the integrity of the fabric would provide the desired shaping and supporting qualities. The textile blend is soft, cool and stretchy but dense enough to hide imperfections. It is not quick-drying, or a performance fabric; in other words, I wouldn't use this for running, due to lack of support, or backpacking, as the cotton would likely pill and fade from pack abrasion. It is a lovely, versatile base layer or summer tank for everyday wear, casual workplace attire or light outdoor activities, and I suspect it would make a nice rock-climbing top as well. I like the earthy colors; I bought the lavender (which is pale and subtle enough to be tolerated by grown-up tomboys!) and mahogany. It can be dressed up with a cardigan and skirt and dressed down with cut-offs and Tevas, packs small and wears easily. I felt it was a bit spendy, but am so pleased with the product that I'm considering a third color.
