Icebreaker RealFleece 260 Sierra Hooded Jacket - Men's

Item # ICE0742

The Icebreaker RealFleece 260 Sierra Hooded Jacket is so absurdly comfortable that you may never want to take it off. We don't blame you: the naturally soft and odor-fighting properties of merino wool make this jacket a great wear on the trail or around the house on a lazy afternoon. A versatile design makes this a great layer under your shell if you're heading out for a chilly backpacking trip.

Bottom Line:

Redefining comfortable.

Great Jacket

By:

Very comfortable, looks and fits great. I'm 6'3" and 185 lbs, I bought the large with the intention of having layers under it, but it still hugs my body pretty well even with just a light shirt underneath.

given it's wool, would anyone recommending sizing up, in case of inevitable shrinkage?

As long as you don't dry it you will avoid any shrinkage.

nice but annoying zipper

By:
June 5, 2012

Feels heavy compared to similar thickness synthetics but seemed nice enough, and is probably quite warm. Mainly, I just didn't like the zipper. It felt bulky and very uncomfortable against my neck when I zipped it all the way up and kind of unnecessarily rigid and heavy, overkill. Maybe OK if you have a really skinny neck? Returned.

Warm and stylish

By:
April 16, 2012

I bought this piece for my husband: he's 150 lb, 5.8' - Small fits great. The quality is remarkable - Icebreaker has a way of making it's clothes perform well and look stylish!

A medium Icebreaker t shirt fits me nicely. Should I size up to a large in this to allow for layering?

Depends on how you want it fit. The RealFleece run true to size and are not a tight fit. If you want it bigger then size up. You are also going to find this offers a lot of warmth and you won't need to wear a lot underneath. Hope that helps!

Hooded wool sweater

By:
February 2, 2012

Feels warm and cozy with a snug fit. Seems best suited to athletic types, others may find it kind of tight. Quality feels good but it's too early to tell for sure. Other Icebreaker items I have, seem to last. If only the cost wasn't so painful, but that's just me. Hood is great.

Warm, big hood, skinny arms

By:
December 6, 2011

Fabric is great, very warm with just a light base layer. Almost as warm as the heavier 320 weight but probably more useable.

Two things of note. First, the hood is big and fits more like a traditional hoody. Hood is double thick and there is a pattern printed on the inside that does not show up in the pictures (not offensive). Definitely won't go under a helmet (might go over it but I've not tried it). Second, the upper arms fit snug. If you have big biceps it will be skin tight to uncomfortable. I'm by no means a gym monkey but with anything other than a cotton tee under it the arms are tight. I'm 6' 2" and 205 lbs. and the XL fits perfect. Arm length is spot on and length is perfect for ample coverage.
