The small is true to size, though close fitting (as most icebreaker clothing is). It's a little shorter in the torso, and the ember is more of a bright red, but a nice color, especially for hiking during hunting season. I personally like the cap sleeves, and look forward to enjoying it outdoors!

Good fabric, but bad design

By:
May 3, 2012

Let me be clear here, I own loads of Icebreaker and I've always preferred merino to synthetics. But lately I've been really gravitating away from Icebreaker. Why? Because while the fabric is extremely desirable for outdoor pursuits, the design of this shirt (and some of their other shirts) is really not. Neck opening is way too big - yes it'll assist ventilation, but the back of my neck, and my collarbone have been sunburned because I forgot to apply loads of sunscreen in places where you'd expect a real crew neck shirt will cover. The sleeves are also like cap sleeves, covers up the shoulders and not enough for the upper back arms - I've also got sunburned there b/c I'd expect a real short sleeve shirt to cover the upper part of the arms as well. What I don't get is that must IB make all of their shirts fashionable with big necks and short short sleeves? Surely a reasonable dose of "form follows function" should ring some bell to any companies that claim to make outdoor clothing?!

Super Light Weight Top

This dries very fast. I wear it for hot yoga in the morning, it dries at night. No odor even after three soaking sessions. I have other icebreaker tech t. This one is weightless. Excellent for high velocity activities. Thanks Icebreaker.

Very useful top

Fits great, looks great, love it.. Would happily wear this top for just about anything. Keep in mind it is wool, and I do find icebreaker slightly itchy on occasions (I think I'm a little more sensitive than the average person). I definitely agree the benefits of wool outweight any itchiness though.

Running in Wool- who knew??

Wool keeps you warm when you are cold, we all know that. But it actually helps cool you off and regulate your body temp when you are sweating. I love this top and it's in my regular workout gear rotation. It dries really quickly and since the fabric does not absorb odor, it can easily be worn again, a definite plus when you are traveling and short on space. Great shirt!!
