Gravis Filter LX Skate Shoe - Men's

Item # GVS0359

Rocking a super-sheen and crazy –durable waxed canvas upper, the Gravis Men’s Filter LX Skate Shoe brings the ruckus and the noise. The mesh lining lets your dogs breath while you shred the local park to bits, and the PU Cloud 9 footbed dials in more comfort than a bottle of Jack.

Bottom Line:

Wax on, wax off.

The Gravis Filter LX is a great all around shoe. It skates amazing giving you amazing control and board feel not to mention the style points you get with the torn up, waxy finish. The shoe is constantly changing looks as you destroy the wax canvas through normal wear or against your grip tape. They also have the amazing Gravis fit and construction that seems to be spot on.

The Filter has a fully skateable sole. And has the Cloud 9 Footbed that adds a lot of cushion without any added bulk. The Slymz are strictly a chiller.

If you want something low profile but still fully skateable, go with the Filter. If you just want something for lounging, go with the Slymz.

Hope that helps!

For sure the arto is a better shoe for skating, the filter works and you'll receive a great feel from them, but canvas is not the longest lasting material in the world. These are great shoes for real, the Arto is just a bit better.

These shoes kill it on style points and function. Except for walking in any sort of wet condition, your feet will be wetter than. . . well I don't want to go there, but you get it! I have the size 10.5 and they fit true to size. Very comfortable and breathable for those hot summer daze. Also great for those kickflip's you bust out on the reg's at the park.

Doin' Work

By:

Ok so the cloud 9's aren't as amazing as everyone makes them out to be, at least at first wear. With that said, they get more and more comfortable each day. Mine were rock hard out the box and hurt my feet the first day. Ever since then they've slowly turned to cushioned pillows, so 4 stars for comfort with the possiblity of it moving up(5 stars for quality and removability of the insoles). Plus if you're buying shoes like these for comfort then you're in the wrong place, there just isn't enough shoe/support to compete with shoes like the Indo or some Nike Kobe Zoom's or Asic Running Shoes (for comparison). In terms of looks 5 stars they're stone cold killers and i get comments non stop from guys and girls. If you're worried about the price just get the non wax ones. In terms of skating, i haven't been out much but they've handled the same and in some ways better than some vans era's or authentics. They are also way lighter than those vans. All in all great shoe that if they keep refining every year will be a Must add to your collection, if it's not already. Here's a tip if you like Shoes of this style but need more support then take out the cloud 9's (save them for just when you skate) and use a pair of custom insoles or orthotics.

To note the mention of the Kobe's and Asic's were just to point out that it'll never be able to match support of running or basketball shoes or bigger more cushioned skate shoes.

These shoes are what's up! The waxed look is unique and dazzles the ladies! The Cloud 9 foot bed is like skating on marshmallows and like the other guy said the shoes get even better looking when you skate them, which is pretty rare in skate shoes.

Raddest Material!!

By:
December 3, 2009

I swooped on some canvas Filters and was so stoked on them I had to dip on another pair. I hope they make this shoe forever. This material is so rad! It wears in great and the wax finish throws some unique style marks on the shoe as you wear it!

I got the black, and love 'em!
