Giro Zero Cycling Glove - Men's - 2009 BCS
If you prefer to ride without any gloves at all, but recognize the highly impractical chance youíre taking in leaving your palms open to road rash, the Giro Zero Glove may just be the glove you need. Minimalist, yet comfortable, they will cushion and protect your hands without interfering with bar feel.
What we like most about these gloves is the complete lack of any closing mechanism. The Zero Gloves reflect the fact that we are not the only ones who have suffered from Velcro stuck to everything syndrome. The sleek pull on-pull off design keeps the glove lighter and lower in profile. Giro added easy to grab mini pockets on the top of the fingers to make them easier to get off after a hot ride.
Taking them off is one thing; making sure they fit well is a whole different kettle of fish. Gloves that bunch up and cut off circulation to the fingers are just about the worst. Giro uses their Super Fit Engineering process to develop the gloves in a way that guides the fit, design, and patterning of every Giro glove. Essentially, they tailor the palm, fingers, and padding to conform to the various hand shapes and sizes. And, they offer six sizes from which to choose.
Giro recognized that over-padding gloves was a common problem, and used their Three-Piece Palm construction to make sure padding was sufficient without impacting bar feel and control. Giro designed the Zeroís palms to mirror the handsí features and articulated movements, improving grip while keeping the tender and heavily used spots cushioned.
The Zero Gloves offer the comfort and control of high-quality leather while mitigating the effect moisture typically has on leather by using Pittards for the palms. Pittards uses Cabretta, or hairsheep, leather because it is so thin and durable that itís ideal for protecting your palms without hindering control. Pittards leather goes through a special tanning process to help the leather to absorb less water and resist sweat better than the other leathers and synthetics.
The uppers are made from a microfiber, and wick moisture away from the skin. Available in X-Small through XX-Large, the Giro Zero Gloves come in Black.

i have used pearl izumi almost exclusively in the past and was using the gel-pro when i got these, i was getting severe numbness due to the stiff and rather large pads on the glove and thought it was time to try something a bit different, then i found the giro's. first off, they have absolutely no padding, none, so all those with sensitive hands need not apply. the fit snug but are so soft that you easily forget there on. if you are sick of the super pads i highly recommend you try these, you won't regret it!
So far, the best

Been experimenting with padded, absorbent, comfort, etc. for a long time. Never thought that these "minimalist" gloves would be my favorite.
Pros : light, surprisingly comfortable, no velcro, very nice tear offs (really the best solution), professional feel
Cons:Do not clean well, black color ran (but I would buy them again).
These are worth your purchase. I tried to find something similar to compare but there is nothing out there.

Do you alter reviews? I posted one last night and it is there today, altered and the date has changed. What's up with that? Not a good way to engender trust in your company.

I knew going in that there would be virtually no padding to these gloves. That is part of the reason I bought them. I don't like most of the gloves I find but I don't like riding bare-handed. These are super light and fit my hands perfectly. There is no terry or fleece spot to wipe your brow - not a big deal for me.
My main problem, my only problem, is that the tops of the gloves are not as breathable as I'd like. After only 30 miles on a 70 degree day, the backs of my hands were pretty sweaty. It wasn't miserable, but uncomfortable. Other than this, the gloves are terrific.

I love these. They are light, look good and the palms are fantastic. I am definitely a fan of no padding. the leather is soft, and has slight stretch to it. My only complaint is that the black leather in the middle of the palm has a tendency to leave some black on my hands. Also, these gloves are completely unpadded, so if you don't like that, they aren't for you. However, if you've never tried an unpadded glove, I think these are more comfortable than any padded glove I've worn.

Nice. Minimal yes, great grip, light and comfortable. No real padding but feel great and easy tear off. Professional feel.

Pro - gloves are nice - no padding and well constructed. Nice materials. On and off is easy with the pull tabs on the fingers.
Cons - The lower palms bunched up after about 15 miles - and stayed that way. I guess there was either some extra leather in the palm or the gloves stretched a bit with use.
It drives me crazy - I can feel the "ridge" in the leather against my palms when on the hoods. No amount of pulling on the tab at the wrist will remove the "slack".
I may try to reshrink them to see if they will form to my hands. but as it is now, the extra material is a distraction.
Would be 5 stars but for the stretching!

The glove is fine but I wish it had padding. Besides that the glove performs well. It is good if you sweat like me and end up having sweat leaking out of your bartape.
Great fitting glove

Almost exactly what I wanted in a glove. No foam or gel padding, no velcro, just a form fitting leather palm with a stretchy, form fitting back.
Pros: great fit, tough leather palm for wiping debris from tires, no velcro (stretch to fit, slip on glove)
Cons: no soft, absorbant area for wiping sweat, one of the three pairs had a seam come loose, expensive
Don't Think Twice - BUY THESE!

I hardly ever write reviews. I generally use Assos Summer Gloves however when it came time to reorder another pair they were out of stock. Hesitantly, I tried these. WOW! I absolutely feel in love with them. Lightweight, perfect fit (medium), and good overall feel. The grip was excellent---I ride in a very tropical climate so a decent grip on the hoods is important. I just placed an order for 3 more pair to have 'on-hand' when needed.

I've been collecting gloves guy like my wife collects shoes but not for the same reason. I have never been satisfied with gloves that are over padded, and have crazy plastic parts sewn all over them. Giro NAILED it with fit, style, breathabilty and bar feel...hmmm just like their helmets. Buy them? Hell Yes! I even bought a pair for wifey.
