Run smaller than Velcros
August 22, 2012
Got a pair of the Velcros, which I like. If they gave a little more room for my pinkie toe I would love them.
So I thought I'd size up when I got these to have a more comfortable pair. Well, I'm a size 9 street shoes, and I had a size 8.5 in the the velcros, so I ordered a 9 in the lace-ups. No dice, too small to be comfortable. They felt tighter than the 8.5s in the velcro. So I send them back for a 9.5. Again, no luck. This time, the left feels really good, but the right foot feels too big. This is odd, because like most people, my left foot is bigger. I compared the two side by side, and sure enough, the right one is about a 1/4" longer than the left one. Grrr. Oh well. I'll be sending these back as well, but I don't think I'll be going with evolv again, at least not online.

Sometimes changing the shoe really makes the difference, and these definitely did for me for one specific thin crack I was working on! The rubber is soft and adapts to fissures well, and the lace fit allows for precision tightening to get the best fit. Quality and very sensitive shoe!

I love this shoe! So good for edging, and if you size up a little, it's amazing for cracks too! I have it in two sizes, tight and floppy, and love to wear one of each on harder Indian Creek routes. It breaks in really well...I can wear my tighter ones all day long....definitely always recommend it for people who only want to climb in one shoe!

All right, first off all, the are the most comfortable shoes i have ever worn. They mold to your foot beautifully, even the love bump in the shoe. They flatten out slightly but stay aggressive enough to be a solid shoe on the over hang, while being comfortable enough fir slab. Some dead space in the heel but that goes away if you crank on the laces. The rand above the toe has polished slghtly but shows no sign of wearing out. The loops of the laces have gotten ripped very slightly as I tried to toe hook in vain.
Pros: Comfortable, sticky rubber, great edging, indoors or out, solid smeerer.
Cons: Can't toe hook AT ALL, green dye stains your foot and discolors both your foot and the shoe, Very long laces, toe rubber polishes and flattens out slightly over time making it not have quite such a pointed tip.

What a shoe. 1 pitch of pain, and then they just settled right on to my foot so nicely for a snug, sensitive steep rock shoe. At first the love bump/concave sole didn't look steep and aggressive with no foot in them, and when you put them on it is time to grab with your toes! This is just my first impression from a handful of days, but so far so good. A heads up on sizing from evolv...I wear a 13 for sport performance in the Evo's and pontas, and I went with a 13.5 in this shoe and the predator G2 and that is a similar fit. By the way, GESHIDO stands for GEtSHItDOne.
